Gravity Bugs / Issues

I mean, my Homelink menu shows the garage door for our other house several hundred miles away every time.
Mine too. Primary is in San Francisco -- secondary is in Palm Springs, and both appear each time. Go figure. I think I read someplace that there are issues with geofencing. Maybe that'll get fixed soon, and the feature will work as expected. I know they're trying to move really quickly to fix a bunch of software bugs. Hopefully at some point they get to this one.

hm mine shows both for a second or two and then the other one will disappear and the correct one remains. So far flawless like this but the button still won't work.

I've had a long list of minor issues I've asked our SC to get us in for, but they just totally dropped the ball and stopped responding. Since they never fixed the 2nd row slide covers, now the left 2nd row seats are jammed and have limited motion. I irately called Customer Care and the local SC manager and said they needed to fix the 15+ things on my list and get it all working like a new vehicle should have before we leave on a long road trip at the end of the month. They called back and are scheduling us in next week as soon as the loaner Gravity is back.

I'm willing to put up with a lot for a new vehicle, and expect a lot of challenges, but the level of service is so far below what I'd even expect for a used Honda sold out of a second-hand garage. Nothing about my interactions with Lucid suggest this is a company that can be trusted to deliver quality. At this point, I want weekly personal calls on every single issue and when it will be fixed, I am so disappointed with every aspect of the ownership experience beyond the actual driving. It's infuriating.

I hate being a jerk about this -- none of these have been showstoppers until now -- but this is completely unacceptable service for a 140k+ vehicle. They're speed-running the Tesla game of rushing out vehicles with fundamental manufacturing failures and not hiring out service to meet demand. I've stopped recommending Lucid to people who aren't software engineers used to nothing working and service not answering the phone. :-(

Where we're at after a June 30 delivery and no service visits:
Hardware:
  1. 2nd row left slide cover unsecured, reveals mechanism when moved -- now jammed and does not fully move
  2. Drive Assist non-functional the past week -- no errors, just never available even after reset
  3. Parking surround view front camera doesn't match lines across cameras. Is expected behavior or does the camera needs calibration?
  4. Homelink non-functional (displays QR code for hardware module purchase)
  5. 2nd key fob on due bill
  6. Wheel/lug cap kit -- no present, expected as part of DE package?
  7. Check frunk catch alignment -- occasionally does not release on first try; verify alignment
  8. Trunk spoiler panel slightly below trim, weird overall alignment -- confirm as intended
  9. Rear brake light lens not secured at ends, misaligned on left side
  10. Two loose screws in front passenger map pocket -- probably from shipping, confirm they don't go somewhere important
  11. Window gasket bubbles -- most window/door gaskets bubble out at the corners rather than following curve of window/door
  12. 2nd row powered screen cover not flush: interior upholstery on door at powered screen cover in 2nd row is wavy and doesn't meet evenly with cover. (More visible on right side.)
  13. 2nd row intermittent squeaks and creaks -- review common causes (e.g. bolt torque, slide lubrication)
  14. 2nd row left door accent LED strip missing color channel (?) -- when setting a Lucid Vibes color, the 2nd left door color is not quite the same
  15. 3rd row right seat catches metal lift gate trim and pulls it free from attachments -- trim needs to be properly secured and adjustments if possible
  16. 3rd row right seat loose upholstery clip -- under the left side of the seat there's a clip with no obvious place to secure
Software (we think):
  1. Massaging seats sometimes stop working after a period of time (haven't been able to categorize better than "sometimes", sorry)
  2. In version 3.3.9: intermittent long boot time from blank screens on entering vehicle (increased in 3.3.9 -- now almost every entry)
  3. Continues in 3.3.9: intermittent spurious warnings about Stability Control, Regenerative Braking, Charge Level, Wireless Charging that disappear immediately after vehicle sleep
  4. In 3.3.9: HVAC fans on full blast regardless of settings after vehicle sleep/reboot
  5. In 3.3.9: Lucid Vibes accent light color resets to white (after reboot?) regardless of preference settings
  6. In 3.3.9: Random choice of units. 2nd row display stuck in Centrigrade. Generally inconsistent HVAC UI behavior -- missing buttons, incorrectly dimmed out, etc.
  7. I still cannot access a referral link on the website or app. This seems to be an issue for all Gravity owners who don't also own an Air.
Questions / Suggestions:
  1. The HERE map data is *awful*. It thinks there is a turn restriction so it won't route a right turn onto the street where I live. I fixed this on the HERE Map Creator at least a month ago. How long for these updates to reach the vehicle? [This might be fixed now after 4 months -- still need guidance.]
  2. Please make it possible to raise ride height with doors open. We got in the vehicle last week and it was not possible to close the passenger door because the passenger weight lowered the height and wedged the door against the sidewalk. We had to unload the vehicle to fix this.
I realize this is all rather minor to what others have reported, and also that I've probably been "too reasonable" about the whole affair -- I was fine pushing things off until there was a backlog of service bulletins and known repairs so we wouldn't be in service too long -- but it's also Lucid's responsibility to say "no, we're going to fix all of these problems in the least disruptive way we can". If they can't sort out the issues with the Gravity, they're going to completely fail in the Mid-Range where they will not be able to afford regular service calls on a large fleet.

Yeah, these are super tough. I have #10 and 11 in hardware and I think 1-5 on software are common bugs.

To your point, they’re not showstoppers but it adds up.

I think the SCs vary in response and quality, unfortunately. Ours has been outstanding and extremely responsive. My sense is they’re triaging and there are folks with issues that make it impossible to drive the Gravity and those are prioritized - like a failed RDU or some other big issue.

The other big, and unfortunate, problem is there are more and more Airs on the road and that combines with fewer folks in service who really know the Gravity and how to address issues.

Not a defense - they need to be responsive and need to fix these issues. I think, beyond the bugs, they are struggling mightily with scaling service. Almost more than anything, how they scale (or don’t) service will impact Gravity sales and their ability to compete with a mid market vehicle that will be very late to the mid-market party.

Yeah, frustrating, but I finally removed our second home from homelink and then the custom button on the steering wheel can actually operate the door. And it’s more reliable than trying to tap in the screen button which always seems to lag so bad I can’t tell if it’s working.

Those window gaskets do look terrible like they don’t even fit.

Right. I thought someone said the SA told them the other speakers are only active in Atmos
That doesn't sound like they'd sound the same at all. I've not heard the basic 10 speaker set up yet
I do have the 10 speaker setup. But I have looked over the car with a flashlight and moved the balance around and I can only find 6 speaker grilles. Also does anyone else have an issue where no sound comes out of the speaker grilles in the 3rd row? I can see into the seatbelt mount and the wires look like there are there. I also cannot find any diagram like there was on the Air showing speaker locations. I feel like the balance setting in the Audio only shows 4 seats/2 rows and is just the one from the base Air so it doesn't actually adjust the rest of the speakers.

There are more empty holes on the rear parcel shelf

Since I understand Lucid folks look at this site, I am posting this here, duplicating an issue discussed in the Lucid Gravity - Got Boost? Facebook forum:
Although random alerts and errors have decreased since update 3.3.9, an issue with audio persists - a regular "hiccup" in the audio stream, about every 1 minute 40 seconds, regardless of audio source (FM, Sirius, Bluetooth). This is not unique to my vehicle and is reported on the forum from several other owners. Speculation is that there is a software loop running in the background that interrupts the audio player on a regular basis, or that the CPU is overloaded. This does not affect the driveability of an excellent vehicle, but it is is an irritation that detracts from the experience.
So glad to hear this is happening to someone else!! I routinely experience the same thing! SA tried to convince me it was an issue with my iPhone 17 Pro Bluetooth connection and Apple Music, but when I shared that it also occurred when using TuneIn and SiriusXM natively, he shrugged and said it could be software related (and, thus, nothing he could fix).

On our trip to Southport , NC, stopped to charge ( that story in the charging thread). Upon exiting the car and going to dinner the app came up with Gravity not online or whatever the not talking error message is. Reboots had no effect. Went to sleep in the hotel and this morning we are communicating again. I guess Ursa just gets tired.
My Gravity is persistently offline unless I am connected to WiFi, which means the mobile app is completely non-functional whenever I am away from home. Interestingly, this also affects routing to EV chargers on road trips. Found that out the hard way, having to ultimately rely on my iPhone to do the heavy lifting for that.

When I took the car to service and showed them the issue, they performed a hard reset of the TCU (a capability not accessible to users), did a diagnostics check, and all was deemed copacetic — until, of course, I drove off the lot. Now it’s back to being offline again unless connected to WiFi. Service says don’t use WiFi at all, and wait to see if the car connects to LTE at some point on its own, and that maybe a software update would fix the issue 🥴 To date, it hasn’t.

Of all the bugs I have experienced, this has become the most frustrating because I can no longer remotely check or control features (lock / unlock, precondition climate, check or adjust charging level, check Halo, etc.) Here are the details from the service invoice:

Agree. Usually my music info is there, which is great, but it went out on me the other day, which was really annoying. I had to keep getting out of nav to see what was playing when I was interested.

Otherwise, I don't think anything goes there.
I occasionally see navigation info appear there, but don’t know the sequence. I believe it appears there if I have an active trip in progress, and am using both the pilot panel and center display for other non- nav tasks.

Be glad they are being proactive in fixing these things….this is what happens when you buy a first year model from a relatively new car company. If you are that particular, you should have waited another year at least.

Not supporting Lucid, agree, these things should not happen, but I’m not surprised.

f you are that particular, you should have waited another year at least.
  1. Should have, could have, would have ...
  2. Hindsight is 20/20.
  3. If I knew then what I know now ...
You haven't really lived until you've thought or said at least one of the above.

It’s not hindsight, model year one always has issues….and Lucid is no Toyota

But for a buyer unaware of that fact, that's 20/40 for them. 20/20 would mean they were aware when making a decision.

All three are based on not be aware of a fact when making a decision.

Also, the point of the post was that in life we eventually say or think some of those statements. Lifelong learning.

For me, those three statements motivate me to do research. Minimize the chances of having to make any of the statements.

If I do say any of them, I usually also blame the person in the mirror, depending on the circumstances.

My Gravity purchase; on me.
Few things I'd change.

I'm curious what the forum's take on this question is: Has Lucid made any meaningful improvement to the software bugs since they started delivering Gravities at the end of June, aside from some fob/card improvements? My sense is "no", although I'm aware they've vaguely mentioned robustness improvements (Maybe just for charging?). It seems like they have a big enough software team that we should be seeing progress on more than just fob/card improvements. It makes me wonder how quickly I can expect to see bug fixes occur, given the slow pace so far.

Just to add to the chorus in case Lucid ever looks here, this is happening to ours too...very annoying

Also experiencing the offline issue and the bad BT phone call issues

How often do they send updates?
We have had it for a week now, I know with our Tesla's the first update was sometimes delayed for 3 or 4 weeks after getting the vehicle, is it the same with Lucid?

Thanks

Yes, having had mine since June 26th, the software and features have definitely improved. For a reference point, the first several weeks I had my car until the first software update involved switching to guest profile then back to my own profile EVERY time I got in the car otherwise the data/SiriusXM didn't work. At least they squashed that bug quickly. My software at the moment is livable (with the biggest issue being the few seconds of black screen when I sometimes enter the vehicle)...No current dealbreakers though I do have stupid little software annoyances like occasionally the music song/artist next to the speedometer will disappear...but most of the issues people complain about on here don't affect me. I've never really had any significant key issues even from day 1.

All that being said, I think a lot of the issues people are experiencing on here may stem from differences/more complex use issues: For instance, I only have 1 driver of my car (myself) so there are no profile switches/bluetooth pairing fights with other phones. I also do not use most of the "entry/exit" features that most on here seem to use (proximity key, seat moving back for entry/exit, etc). That may have contributed to my better experience overall.

Thanks
They’ve been on a cadence of about one every four weeks or so for Gravity so far, but it can take a week or more to roll out. I would expect one more before end of year but I don’t expect it to have the year end functionality that’s been mentioned previously like CarPlay or handsfree DD. Total guess on my part, but my sense is they’re still focused on bugs.
