Gravity Bugs / Issues

Curious if you've had the fob updated at your service center? I have not yet but want to try this process to determine if it improves fob performance.
My GGT was in for service for nine days, had nine issues and most of the nine worked out.

As for the keys, they performed the update to both my fobs. Have not had an issue since getting the vehicle back on Sunday. The alert still pops up maybe half the time but it doesn’t seem to matter.

Since the 3.3.1 update, my dream drive does not engage at all. That was one of the things it was in for with service but they forgot to fix. Updating to 3.3.2 did not fix. So I’m having that issue which I hope gets sorted out soon. And yes, resets on the car have already been done and do not resolve.

I do seem to have a charging bug now where the car is set to start charging at midnight. I plug in after work, check the car around 8pm and it started charging already. Clicked stop charge. Woke up the next day and it did not charge. Weird how it’ll start randomly a couple hours after plug in, and then won’t charge at the scheduled time.

I haven't played around with time of day charging but it sounds like you might have a time zone issue. It may have started charging because it was midnight somewhere. If after that charging session started you then hit stop charge it may have wiped out the entire session. Did you check t see if it started charging the following night even if it was at the wrong time?

Was it on the work order? Forgetting to fix that is a pain as it will no doubt need to go back into service to have a sensor calibration done.

Being as the Card Key did not work when set on charging pad in console, this sounds like a pinched wire in console issue.

The article didn't say when both cars were delivered. However, the author's car was given the 3.3.2 update before he wrote the article, and the Editor-in-Chief's car delivered a week later already had 3.3.2 loaded, so these cars were apparently delivered well after Lucid knew of the console wiring issue which was discussed on this forum well ahead of the 3.3.2 release.

I cannot understand why they wouldn't have verified these cars didn't have that issue before delivering them to the press, unless "InsideEVs" got cars by a blind method which would prevent Lucid from knowing which cars they got.

Can this company think of any more ways to sabotage itself…

It just makes me crazy that driving the Gravity is such an off-the-scale great experience but that getting underway in it can be such as Sisyphean exercise.

The irony is simply overwhelming.

As the author in the article said, "Lucid really, really needs a hit right now". This problem with the key fob, key card, and getting the car in gear, needs to be resolved pronto. No one gets a do-over on "initial impressions", not even our much loved and much vaunted Lucids.

Yeah, it was on the work order. Which, was interesting because the solution they wrote down was they updated the car to 3.3.2 and drove the vehicle to test my wind noise issue after that was fixed and they did not receive any dream drive errors. Yet, the issue was dream drive wouldn’t engage in the first place. So I hope I don’t have to go back in and the next update fixes it. It’s starting to get annoying I can’t use it while I’m driving. Luckily, no long drives coming up but still.

Wouldn’t PaaK have to interact with their key software in some way? I don’t think PaaK would help if it’s just as buggy, or even a little buggy, as fob. It would make them look more disjointed (in my eyes).

When Tesla intro’d PaaK it took a couple of updates to work right. Rivian had several updates as certain iPhones worked and others didn’t.
Original Tesla FOBs worked well but were somehow spoofed, Our new Model Y had a PaaK issue on the first day we got it that was patched a day or 2 later. I had a Lucid test drive that took a while to get started because of the Lucid keys issue... so glad I had already driven it before without the problem or I would have considered cancelling. I received my Dream Edition on Sept 26 and the latest update came out a night or 2 later that addressed the often spurious warnings... It has been great ever since. One screen freeze and yes... have to jiggle my little FOB sometimes... but that is no worry since that has always worked for me. I think everyone should occasionally shake their FOBs...

What Lucid Needs now are champions... As soon as you get your Gravity go forth and evangelize it. I have already had a few folks ask about it along the way... looking forward to my tour from CA to NM. Gonna be a few stops along the way to demo the car as we go... at least let new folks know what it is... I don't know how but if some sticker maker could make a sticker with the Gravity QR code... to go to the online pages... that could increase the folks who learn about it as we go. Also what is with the cool subtle logo in front... I wanna paint in the Gravity letters in the air dam... why are we hiding?

We have that but as well. I caught it at delivery and they did fix it by cycling back to centigrade and the to Fahrenheit but now its returned.
I prefer the Celsius temps... mine stays that way fine... cracked up the other day when I looked inside while it was charging to find range displayed in kilometers. I didn't mind mostly amusing as I am BiMeasuremental... ( the metric system seems more sensible to me since all systems are arbitrary at their root. ) Since all our speed limit signage are only miles... I leave it set to miles. BTW in the 70s the US actually had dual measurement road signs. Oh well...

You know Lucid puts a QR code on their Lucid Air loaners? Pretty interesting idea.

I would 100% take my Gravity to the coffee and car meetups in my area, but I’ve found very few interesting, genuine people at this events and LOTS of “my d-ck is bigger than yours” type folks. I just don’t care to see another Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc and have someone insist I drag race them…

If anyone in the DMV area knows of a more friendly type of meetup, I’d do all I could do evangelize!

That sounds like the auto-brightness adjusting to the brightness outside. You can dim down the HUD in the settings to eliminate the HUD square backlight.

Although, I have experienced the HUD dimming way too much in some instances.

Unless, is your HUD constantly adjusting brightness level regardless of how dark/bright outside is?
My problem with the HUD is that it is not quite adjustable enough. I need it lower... than it goes... Also the nasty reflections at certain times of day have me planning to carry my old floor mat ( I love the spill resistant ones ) to toss over the HUD if it gets to flashing in my eyes along the 1000 mile upcoming road trip. Leaving on 10/14 from AZ to NM... there don't appear to be any service locations beyond Phoenix. So pray to whatever Gods you have that we can make it to the Sangre De Cristo's and back uneventfully.

You guys are old (like me) I put in our first network with PC's but it was Novell and they were pretty solid at networking. Top-o-the-line work station was a HP386SX Processor with 1 MB of RAM and I thought we were really cooking with gas! They were $5,000 each! Had to load the OS and Windows from 5 1/4" floppies.....took forever!
Also interesting to note that Lucid Air, Gravity and Tesla's CT all use some ancient ( didn't Big Blue invent this... or was it Novell or simply novel.) hybrid token ring tech with Ethernet hardware and protocol variant to speed things along and not drop packets... sort of important not to lose packets when hurtling down the highway at 80.

Haha wow, no, that’s not what any service center I’ve seen looks like, and is clearly temporary until they have more market penetration in that area.

The service centers I’ve seen are clean and modern… not Vietnam-era hangars, lol.
If the tech inside knows what they are doing... who cares what the building looks like. More service centers in shacks is fine just set up and train more folks to do it.

Well, I care. I only go to service centers with a champagne room. Maybe I am in the minority, but I’d be surprised…🍾🥂

I took mine to cars and coffee here in Alabama and it was a hit! Even with the car crowd that usually doesn't go in for this type of thing or the let's race types. I got none of that. It was an interesting looking car that got their attention, especially with the frunk seat, and people just flocked to it all morning very curious. Fielded a ton of questions and about the brand and all. And bc it's an SUV/minivan (I just own it now) the race crowd didn't get interested in racing it, tho they were wowed with the 824 hp and the DE with 1024. So don't be afraid to pop up at a cars and coffee and show the brand and the vehicle! It does show extremely well! Just don't let them ask about if it'll see the key or not😂
