Gravity accessories slowly appearing

I definitely want one - it's necessary for car camping.

1 more vote for using the Tesla wall charger - I am using mine on my GDE with zero issues. Er, well, zero issues that seem to be related to the Tesla charger. I did have some charging issues in the cold; we're still not sure what happened. Service took a look, but could not replicate, so no action taken. Unfortunately, that seems to be the case with quite a few bugs.....

I've been trying to change my mindset to the same as I've had to settle for with my LCID stock investment... Given up on hoping for a big win and lowering my expectations. 🤷‍♂️

It's not the "ultimate" car I hoped for. It's got lots of flaws and disappointments for a $108k luxury car. Their "compromise nothing" tag line continues to be hugely ironic, and I just have to laugh at this point. But I'll just drive myself crazy if I keep focusing on all the shortcomings and don't focus more on the great things. I'm getting much more comfortable using Android Auto full time for music and entertainment, which while hardly ideal, at least gives me a pretty dependable cell signal via my phone instead of the constant frustration of regular (often lengthy) drop-outs that were driving me crazy. I'm slowly getting used to sitting lower than I prefer in order to see the HUD and get a partial view out the rearview mirror. I'm getting used to hitting CREEP every time. I'm getting used to no liftgate kick. I'm getting used to having to stand at the door for 5-10 seconds before the fob works, etc. Compromises.

But it still does many things well, some of them superbly well with no equal. The space-utilization and storage is world class. So is the range and efficient (for a car this size). The comfort is really good. Those things still matter, a lot. So I'll try to remember those more and try to forget about the disappointments so much. 😎

Hmm...not really. A mattress goes right across that valley...if you use it for storage, putting stuff in there will support it even more. I've noted before that various gear like a Dometic Water jug is the perfect size to put in there. I just did around 30 days on the road car camping...part 2 of my trip starts in a few days once I get my Gravity back from SC after "will not charge" issue.

After installing Lucid "Bento Boxes" - was my visiting brother the only one to figure this out? I've had the boxes in my car for a few months now, and never thought that that's what that space could be for. Granted I'm not the fizziest drink in the fridge:

To hold the key? Yes, the delivery specialist should’ve showed you this. I believe he mentioned it can read the key there when the battery is dead. I have not tested it. I guess you could remove the battery and try it.
 
Does that spot really do anything? I have wished that that space could hold a wallet instead of the key. I never use it to hold my key (I keep it in my pocket) and as far as I have been able to tell, it won't start the car.... I've tried putting the key there when I had the "fob not detected" error and it didn't allow me to start the car....

Maybe it just puts the key closer to the antenna, since the car’s fob antenna is supposed to be under that tray.

Some cars have a fob spot like that that allows you to program an extra fob, but from what I read that's not the case for the Gravity.

I saw your car camping post and definitely appreciated it, so thank you!

Unfortunately, for me, I need more support. I have a 4" xped car mattress and while I thought it would be ok when I just kind of lightly tested it at first, it was not sufficient when I actually went to sleep on it. My hips and lower back were right where the space is and I would have had a hell of a time walking the next day had I tried! I had brought along the cargo cover from my Tesla Model S just in case, and I made that work instead, even if it was a bit flimsier than I would have liked it to be. I would have cut a piece of plywood, but I was short on time, and I didn't really feel like carrying a sheet of plywood around, and I don't have great tools for doing that anyways, and I'm not great with DIY stuff...... I saw your suggestion of a Dometic water jug (holy cow their stuff is pricey!); I considered trying a Deer Park-style jug but decided I didn't trust the strength of the plastic and didn't want to end up with an exploded water tank disaster.

Buying the right accessory is expensive, but I will probably enjoy the perfect fit....

As it turns out, the bento box cupholders work quite well for that too. That half circle next to the full circle that initially seemed a waste is proving to be perfect for sticking a pair of sunglasses, or a (small) wallet, or a cell phone.
