Hi everyone,
I'm glad this community exists! Otherwise, I would have stayed discouraged by the first reviews after the EU launch of the Gravity.
After learning that the toughest time may be over, we took a test drive in Hamburg, Germany towards the end of July, and afterwards considered to order a built-to-order GT with five seats and all the bells and whistles. The rumours of the model year change were true, of course... and unfortunately, the sales person was not able to book a custom config with five seats anymore. Bummer!
I can understand that with the abysmal sales figures in Europe, it is just not cost efficient to offer all options in cross-combination - but forcing a third row on me that I never use and can't even take out, only because I want the GT version, and not even offering a black interior and the wheels with the highest range when I want to upgrade to the dynamic handling package or the head up display (this necessitates the new "Ultimate" trim)... that doesn't sit right with me. Coming from driving BMW over the last 20 years (with options that fill a book, special colors, etc...) that is a real culture shock
And still - we had fallen in love with the Gravity. So we settled on a pre-built GT in standard black, without the good stereo and with dream drive premium... thinking that we can still put a wrap on it, put an active subwoofer in the trunk and - as we are in the EU - DD Pro will most certainly not be offering something substantial in the upcoming time anyways. Luckily it has all the other bells and whistles that we wanted.
The car is en route to Europe as we speak, and the Lucid Store will hold on to it until our current lease runs out in November - enough time for me to figure out which winter tires to get ;-)
Looking forward to sharing more of our experience, and learning from the collective wisdom of this forum along the way!
