Just got the Lucid Grand Touring delivered.how do you setup the automatic gates and garage opener.now I use the myQ app to open and close .will be nice to have it setup with Alexa
“Alexa open the gate , Alexa the garage door “

My Homelink works but it takes 2-3 steps to access the icon to open or close the garage door. So I use a TFTT Applet linked to MyQ called 'Close Car Garage Door' created by rwilcox4291. I say "Alexa Trigger Close Garage Door" and the applet is activated to close the door. Works well

Hi
I just added this. Works nice. It seems that it requires you to say the work “trigger” after “Alexa”. Any way around that ?
Thanks

You can set up a routine in Alexa to call IFTTT. That routine can use any voice prompt that you specify.

I found another solution that opens and closes the garage since this IFTTT app only supports closing.

It’s called LiveKey, formerly SimpleCommands. I just configured it. Works with myQ and Alexa along with the LiveKey app.

Actually LiveKey supports tons of other devices in your home.

I used also the LiveKey app it works great with a custom command very simple to setup . Once you setup myQ in the LiveKey app you just create the command you want in the Alexa app

Do you have Alexa in your house? Does it work there? If it does, it should also work in your car if you are logged into the same account.

If you don’t use Alexa at home, you’ll need to set this up by adding the MyQ skill in the Alexa app. Then she’ll ”know“ about your doors and gate, and be able to respond the way you’re looking for.

Unfortunately not that easy .MyQ app doesn’t work with Alexa anymore .MyQ from Chamberlain refuse to partner with Alexa Amazon .so the only option i found that is easy is to use a 3rd app called LiveKey

Get out! Ugh - I guess I didn’t know this because we integrated our MyQ garage doors with our Alarm.com system, and that does the trick. I flat out refuse to pay MyQ for their integration extortion.

Yes this is exactly what I did. Plus with LiveKey it seems to be a much better option anyway since it can open and close the garage door where the IFTTT app only did close.
Not sure why Chamberlain hasn’t fixed their app.

If you have MyQ openers you already have what you need. LiveKey can control them with Alexa. No cost.

Now that I solved my problem with my own garage door open and close, the next thing I need is the ability to tell Alexa to open our community gate.

I already have that code programmed into Homelink in my Lucid. If only Lucid had an Alexa app, then I could tell Alexa when to issue the gate code. This would save me from having to press the gate button on the front screen as I approach our gate.

Has another found another solution to this? Perhaps a GPS location Alexa app??
Thanks

She will work on geo (ie, “Remind me to check my shopping list when I get to Krogers” or whatever). Try pinning a location at your gate, naming it, then setting a location based routine.

Thanks, but then how do I access the car itself to issue the code/command to open gate code.
My phone doesn't have access to gate. Only the car does.

Also does there exist a list of Lucid Alexa commands? such as Homelink commands, etc?
thx

Hmmm, good point - I was thinking of it being something that you also had access to as an app.

Most of the usual Alexa commands will work in the car (calls, text, music, information questions, smart home invocations, etc), plus many of the car specific thinks like adjusting HVAC, lighting, navigation, etc. Not sure I’ve seen an actual list, but I just try stuff.

Post #15 in that thread lists the Alexa commands

Could you use the Alexa app on your phone? I think the problem with that is that you would still need to unlock and access your phone.
