2024 lucid air pure
I received my car in December of 2023. Since then, it has had no less than 5 service visits for the front trunk not opening. Each time the techs say they adjusted a latch. It works for a bit and then gets tuck. It seems to be cold weather related since it happens more often during the winter months. Has anyone else encountered this? I’m at my wits end. I just want a working frunk and Lucid can’t seem to deliver it. Do I have any recourse legally? Would 5 service visits and the problem not being resolved classify it as a lemon? Im
In Illinois for what it’s worth.

Since the adjustments hasn't worked out, I would recommend a replacement next.

Thank you. I believe they have tried replacing the latch but the problem persists. I’ve reached out to lucid services asking to give me a record of the service visits and what was done.

It was happening to me during the last cold snap. I think some water got in there and froze. At the advice of my mechanic, I pushed the frunk release button several times and it was then able to be opened.

Does your Lucid park in a garage during winter?

Icing weather is a challenge for the car's doors/frunk/trunk/windows that may need additional design revisions.

I do keep it in my homes garage overnight but it’s persistent at all times. I can’t even put my groceries away. There is definitely a major design flaw with the doors and trunk!

I had the same issue but in hot weather. The frunk would open slightly but then be stuck. What was happening was that it was catching on the trim around the front edge of the car due to metal expansion from the heat. If you pulled it up after unlatching, it would dislodge a piece of trim on the driver side front of the car and then open. Service adjusted it and it was better but will have to wait until next summer's heat to be sure it is fixed.

I'm having the exact same issue. First time it was the clips that had to be replaced. Took two visits. Then I had to get it towed in because it wouldn't open or close all the way 13mph cap on speed. They said it was improperly assembled. Well...guess who assembled it...not me! Now they are telling me it worked when it left the repair center.

Did they ever figure yours out?

I will not know until this summer. It happens when it is really hot outside. I believe the metal hood expands slightly and catches on the front trim piece on one corner. They adjusted the hood but it was never hot enough to see if the problem was fixed.

Where is the frunk release button? It may have saved me much frustration over the last three years as my frunk gets stuck in cold and hot weather, so I stopped using it. Being without my car for several days while Lucid worked on the frunk had gotten old. On Thursday, out of the blue, the app said my frunk was open. Sure enough, when I reached my car it was slightly open and would not close or open further. Another two days without my car. I would love to use my frunk, but I can't chance not being able to drive it for two days while Lucid works to fix the frunk. So please, where is the frunk release button? Customer Service tells me to push on the front of the car with all my weight or push the button in the app. Neither works.

I had a very similar issue with my frunk. About half the time it would open about 2 inches and close. Always on the second attempt it would open fully. I had at least 6 visits to the service center. They kept it overnight a few times but the last time they actually fixed it. It has worked flawlessly since then. There were multiple techs that worked on it and the last one was an "expert" according to the service agents I would continue to try to fix it and make sure they give you a nice Lucid loaner. I really don't think this issue can be remedied with the Lemon law. But try it if you have a lot of time.
Good luck
