Learned something new today with my Air. In delightfully frozen Northern climes, the frunk can freeze shut. Enough water from yesterday's rain remained on the car and when I went out to run some errands this afternoon, I initially could not get the frunk to open after I arrived at the local grocery store. This made me sad as that's where I keep my grocery bags. I did eventually get it to open, but after I got home the car kept telling me the frunk was open. It took about ten minutes of carefully wiping down all the edges of the frunk, and removing any little icy bits I could find before I finally made it happy again. At least I thought I did. It's till complaining the frunk is open. Alas...

When closing, give the frunk a decent push above the L and the D while it closes. That’s where the latches are, and it should latch.

Another thing to consider in very cold weather. And I mean really freezing. And that’s when the frunk is frozen shut, you try to pry it open by catching it as it’s trying to come up. And then you tear the little silicone pads that are covered in ice below the air vents. That’s what’s causing the problem. The ice gathers on those pads and sticks to the plastic.
Best to avoid the frunk on the coldest of days. Especially if you’re going to be doing some highway driving, where the cold air passes through those vents and freezes the pads even more. It’s not a huge issue unless it’s really cold. But something to keep in mind.
Lucid replaced my pads free of charge when this happened to me. But I would have preferred to avoid the service visit entirely.

Thanks to @joec for mentioning the additional nuance about tearing the pads. I don't think I did that, and now I've got to add getting the grocery bags out of the frunk before I leave the house to my Lucid standard operating procedures.
