Gravity - Tesla-Nissan
Friday morning, 30 minutes before hitting the road for the weekend, we get alert from app that RR tire is low. Go out to fill it and find a pretty fast leak.
Luckily our local tire store is right around the corner, so I air it up a few Lbs. over and take off to get it patched.

I was lucky because the shop was dead, so they took me right in... there's where any good luck end...

First, since they don't have the Gravity in their system yet, they tell me they can't remove the tire because they don't have the torque specs.
After getting through that by pulling up the owner manual and showing them the spec, they proceeded to remove tire.
The tire had a 1/2" diameter bolt through it and I agreed that I would not want to drive with that patched (there were steel threads coming through the hole on the inside of the tire).

Then we discover that they do not have access to the tire yet... and they are a Michelin dealer
So, I call service, which is 5 hours away from me, and a few phone calls later they tell me they have one in stock and will ship it out.

At this point I smooth talked the shop into letting me leave the car with them so we can get on the road (now an hour late). The new tire would come Fedex overnight and they agreed to take care of it for us as we hit the road (wife picked me up in my Plaid at the tire store)
I tell them I will call them when I have tracking number and confirmation the tire is coming and say goodbye.

A few hours later and well into our trip, I still have not heard from service. I was waiting on an email invoice to pay so they could process the order. I then call my Lucid service persons direct line and it goes to VM. So, I then call the CS number and get another person who put me on hold for a while and comes back an tells me they are waiting on me to sign the invoice.???
long story short is it went to my spam. So, I sign it, then I pay the invoice, and call them back to confirm its good...which they do.
I ask them to text me the tracking number so I can give it to my tire guys and say goodbye. This was at about 4pm of Friday. I call the tire shop and let them know it's on the way and will be there in the morning.

Saturday morning, I realize I don't have the tracking number, so I text service, trying not to be a PITA, but did not get a response. So about 1pm today (Saturday), I call back and they apologized and tell me they are going to get the tracking number. A few minutes later I get a tracking number texted to me...YAY! .....then I get a phone call from service telling me the tire was not picked up yesterday...

Once again, a lot of apologies and they said they would drop it off at the local Fedex store on the way home at 4pm. At about 4:15 I get a text with a picture of the tire at Fedex...nice right.???
Only bad thing is now I don't have the car until Monday...I guess not the end of the world, but it is frustrating a bit.

But wait! , that's not the end lol

Tracking shows the tire not being delivered until Tuesday....yep...3days to go 300 miles (same state). We even paid over $100 for early overnight. In case you have lost track, that was on Friday.

Im not complaining about service really, I know they are busy and understaffed, and I also understand things happen, and I can ALMOST laugh about this string of events.

What does concern me is what if we were already on the road with the Gravity??? Would we have been stuck for 4 days somewhere??

I'm very hopeful that I would have been able to call roadside service and get this taken care of within a day. Is this how Lucids road service would have worked?
I hope so, otherwise it makes me very worried of going on a trip with this car, which in turn would be very frustrating since we paid all that money for this car so we could go on road trips in style.

Whew, sorry that turned into a long rant....but I really hope someone can chime in and assure me that roadside works much faster than what we went through (or still going through lol).

Thanks for reading

I guess it's the downside of a tuned OEM tire. For pretty much any low volume car, the tires will be harder to get a hold of. The only real solution to the problem is for Lucid to be incredibly proactive and fast at getting replacement tires where they need to go.

Again and I’ve said this before, you’re literally driving a vehicle that was just first released from a company that has only been mass selling cars for a few years. I feel for you but unfortunately this is the downside to being an early adopter. Otherwise by all accounts it’s an amazing vehicle. Feel gratified that that you have one.

Agree 100% with responses for sure. And I'm even more grateful that we have a choice a very nice cars to use in this situation. I certainly have had a time when that would not had been the case.
My vent was more about the sequence of events that Lucid service facilitated to turn a 24 hour turnaround into a 5 day ordeal.
And I truly understand they are swamped, that's why I'm venting and not complaining.
Besides I have learned that if you can't laugh at yourself, your missing the best joke in town lol.
I'm used to being early adopter and wouldn't trade it for a minute with this vehicle.
Besides, I already feel a bit better because I just looked and Tire Rack has several tires for the Gravity already. They even have OEM in stock. So not as bad as I was thinking a few hours ago.
And this is important to me. I really appreciate service, they were very, very, helpful and sincerely apologetic about what happened. I mean they loaded a tire in their personal car and took it to Fedex after they got off work...not sure if I could ask for anything more right?

We have had two flats on our Gravities so far: a rear 22" Michelin Primacy A/S and a rear 23" Pirelli P Zero PZ5. Discount Tire was able to get each tire overnight -- ones stamped with the LM mark signifying they are OEM tires for the Gravity -- and send their mobile van to replace them the next day. Tire Rack (which is owned by Discount Tire) also keeps the Lucid LM tires in stock for all three Gravity wheel options.

I was so pleased with the speed and quality of their service -- and so frustrated with the several flats we have had over the past two years from constant local construction -- that I bought road hazard warranties they offered for both Gravities.
