My local hospital has voltas, and they are always occupied! It’s a really good business idea, but I have no idea how they manage to stay in business.

9kW is pretty good! I think I got 3.3kW at our local Volta, the only one I've tried so far.

Volta is great. I’ve used them a few times in MA at movie theaters and the like. I assume the ad revenue pays for the power?

I firmly believe ubiquitous L2 charging is just as important as DCFC.

I was unaware of Volta until now. I have a DC fast charge in the parking lot next to my work and never knew . Thanks, @Tesla2.0 !

There were a couple of those installed in an Outlet Mall in Tilton, NH, but I couldn't get it to work when I was in the area a couple months ago.

I hit the Volta at the Kohl's store in Frankfort, IL yesterday while Christmas shopping, 9KW and it started charging immediately upon plug-in.

There's usually a voltage at AMC theaters., I tried the one in Stafford AMC and by the time I was out of the movie the car was fully charged... no hassle super slow charging was awesome...

There is a Volta in the shopping center near us. They are always occupied as people free charge for hours at 6kW. If there is one not in use, it is usually because it is broken, which is frequent. You have to be really lucky to fine one open and functioning.

I drove by Volta and it was always busy. So I never tried. Besides I rarely go to the movie theater or the mall. That is where they are near me.

Some grocery stores and bookstores have 8kW Volta chargers here. Before I got my home charger installed, I was a big fan. Convenient parking, free electricity, and here they seem to actually just work most of the time. No waiting for authorization, truly plug and charge.
Plus, it's kind of silly, but the giant glowing ad makes them much easier to find in a crowded parking lot than the average charger.
