I hit my car on the rear trunklit backing out of a very dark parking spot without any surrounding lighting. I was backing out very slowly due to the lack of lighting and even though the backup camera was engaged there was no alert rhat there was an object behind me an no alarm sounded until I had already hit the object. In my opinion this is a system failure and even though the damage is minor I believe LUCID should adress this.
Has anyone had a similar experience?

Once you've used the backup camera for a while and looked at how it reads distance, you'll realize that it doesn't always give you numbers to the closest point. It might say you have 30" before you hit the bush it sees, but the curb that you could run over is only 12" away. I wouldn't ever rely solely on the audible warning without looking at the camera output.

Car just returned from being serviced and I was told this is a dead angle for the rear camera bc it was higher up which really makes no sense to me bc the object I hit was right behind me and of course I looked into the display but it was too dark to see ....
