Is it just me or do others also miss having a feedback sound/beep for the car locking after you walk away? I find myself stretching my neck back while walking away from the car trying to look at the rear mirrors to figure out if the car is locked or not. Ditto for when I'm approaching the car but in reverse obviously. Thoughts? I do plan to add this to the survey for 2025 features.

You're not alone. I would love that. It's one of the things I miss about my last car. Maybe the only thing, other than AA. But I haven't heard of any plans for them adding it.

Lock twice. It beeps the second time.

I hate beeping locks an turn it off on any car that I can. Definitely shows that we all like different things based on preferences and how we use the car.

My RX8 just flashes its lights with the first lock press, pressing it twice gives the beep.

How are children supposed to sneak away in the night if the car beeps when locked and unlocked?

Think about the children.

I think he meant while using passive locking...
I'd like to be able to enable that feature too
I know. I’ve learned most people didn’t know it beeps if you lock it twice, though, so I figured I’d mention it.

Yeah, it should definitely be optional. I use passive lock. Over time, I've gotten to trust that it will lock when I walk away., but I never know how far because it isn't consistent. At first, I was turning around and looking back at the car from across the parking lot every time. So a sound would just let me know that it's locked and safe without having to visually verify.

I am the same way, so I just got in the habit of pressing the door handle when I get out. Super easy, no need for a fob or anything.

I don't know why, but every once in a while when I press the handles to lock the doors the horn honks (similar to when I double click to lock on fob). Not sure why or what triggers a different locking behavior.

It happened to me once at the service center actually haha. We decided it was that the car was already trying to lock, and so by the time I pressed the door handle it had been asked to lock twice, thus causing the honk.

But I have no idea.

Hmmm maybe when two people try to lock the door at the same time? Dunno. I'll test it out later

Keep mentioning things - I didn't know pressing the handle locked the car! Thank you
It's my favorite way to lock. Because I use mobile key and am paranoid, I just hit the handle on my way away from the car. And if I don't, I know it'll lock anyway.
