Enphase IQ 2 smart charging & NEM3 Battery dump at 7pm

In case anyone in a NEM3 utility area is considering putting in solar PV, home energy storage batteries, and/or a smart EV charging station that can modulate its output power signal to match available excess PV, here's a snapshot of what my system is doing. July, August, and September are the only months with significant compensation for exporting electricity back the grid. September is awesome - my system nets over $2 per exported kWh. Most other months are in the range of just a few cents per exported kWh.

My IQ 2 "bidirectional" EVSE should eventually be able to manage V2H with my Gravity, if and when both sides have their software built and utility-approved.

The AI operating my Enphase system knew that it couldn't dump all the battery energy between 7pm and 8pm because the batteries' max discharge rate is slightly lower than 1C, so it dumped a little energy at 6pm also - the next best time slot to do so.

Not quite - "Net Exported" is exports minus imports. In September, we're actually earning $2.19 per exported kWh. This jackpot happens only in September, with lesser amounts in July and August, and very very little in other months. In these three months, my system dumps its energy to the grid daily instead of holding onto it for our use through the night. in those three months we import power after the battery dump until PV generation kicks in the next morning.

As far as I can tell, I had a $2000 annual excess export credit last true-up, which has zero cash value. No check coming from PG&E. I oversized my PV system so that I could charge my cars solely from excess solar for a good part of the year. It's money out the door except for the self-satisfaction of driving on sunshine.
