Installed the 2.5 update about 10 days back and I’m noticing that the battery efficiency has dropped significantly. My lifetime average (9000 miles and counting) is 3.41. Now the last couple of Since Last Charge readings are in the 2.60-2.70 range! I’m driving the same as before, no change in my driving habits. It is a bit colder in PNW but still mostly in the mid 40s. Anyway I have driven in the last 2 winters here but the numbers always showed 3.25+, never in the 2s. Has anyone else encountered this situation? This works out to a full battery driving range of about 300, waaay short of the promised 512.

Mine dropped from 3.6/3.8 to 2.9/3.2’s recently. Same driving same routes little low on temp not that effect the range(from 90’s to 75’s)

Surprisingly my efficiency has actually slightly increased since 2.5 update. My "lifetime" has been right around 3.1 mi/kwh. However today I drove up to Concord and back (~125 miles) in the light rain with the HA set at indicated 75 mph (actually 73) and my efficiency hit 3.3 mi/kwh. Go figure.

I have the same experience. My efficiency has dropped by almost 1/3 since the new update and same driving conditions from 3.9s to 2.9/3.2 khw

Have you guys checked your tire pressures? My efficiency was down this week and my tires were at 40 psi instead of the recommended 42. Reinflated them and back to near normal again, with the slight decrease likely being due to the cooler temps here.

My efficiency has been better recently, which I attribute to ideal weather in the Phoenix area. Lifetime average 3.3/3.4, recently getting 3.7/3.8.

My efficiency INCREASED after the 2.5 update. I was normally 2.9 -3.0 but now I’m seeing 3.4 -3.6.

Mine has also been down into the mid to high 2s since 2.5. It's been cooler out, so I chalk much of it up to that. However, even in colder temps, I was hoping to see 3.0 at least

It’s just the weather guys. Not the update
This. Every winter we start seeing posts about efficiency dropping. It's perfectly natural and expected in colder, wetter times.

That’s not my experience. I have driven my AGT through the last 2 winters here and never seen a sub-3 reading before. I haven’t suddenly changed my driving behavior this winter either. Tire pressure is 48-49 so thats not the issue. Think I’ll take it up with CS at the next service.

What would they do?

The update made no difference in my efficiency. My lifetime average is 3.5. Temperature, wind direction and tire pressure make a big difference. When the temperature falls below 40 my efficiency sinks to 3.0. If there's a headwind it falls even lower. Also, remember that every ten degrees of temperature up or down increases or decreases tire pressure by one pound. Thus, if you properly inflated your tires when it was 60 degrees and now it's 40, you'll need to add a couple of pounds of air. Such are the laws of physics. If you want efficiency, drive at 55-60 mph.

The 2.5 update dropped my efficiency from my usual of 3.3 down to 2.7 overnight. Same temperature and driving conditions on my commute. Been like that ever since. I'm hoping it
is a bug that will be fixed in a future SW update.

I can confidently say that my car gets 3.82, like consistently since 2022.
😎

That’s awesome. You have 20s too? I would love to know your driving patterns. Like most people on 20s and 21s, I average about 3.1. Doesn’t matter how smoothly I drive lol. Only way it goes up is lots of freeway driving under 70mph

It's a bit odd because we have a lot of elevation changes all over the roads here (I'm in Las Vegas), so you'd think that would be a non-trivial impact on efficiency.

I drive 40-60 on the roads here, with maybe 10-15% max highway driving min 70 to 80 max consistent. My driving style is smooth, and I use Smooth mode with High Regen.

In winter, I rarely use heat, rather just turn on heated seat and steering wheel. In the summer, I do need A/C for sure and notice a significant drop in efficiency. I think the A/C uses more battery than the driving, no exaggeration. So between May and Aug, my efficiency goes down to like 3.1. I've never seen it in the 2's. But Sept to May it sometimes is 4.

Also, I usually drive alone or with one of my kids and I don't lug around a lot of heavy items in the [t|f]runk. I have the 20's and use the aero foils. Also, I make sure to keep the tire pressure right. I think this is a big factor people miss.

I thought you all were crazy with the update efficiency drop after 2.5, until 2.6 hit and my efficiency after 34,000 miles and 2.5 years of ownership has gone from 3.3 to 2.7. 1000 miles later I'm unable to get it above 3 no matter what I do.
