Edmunds compares against Rivian R1S

As an owner of both, I can’t believe this. There’s literally nothing better about the Rivian R1S unless you want to legit go off roading. I don’t understand how they rate R1S better with cargo.

Of course, it does have PaaK and stable software. But otherwise, there’s really no comparison. Gravity is better in every way.

The real bottom line is that if you want to go off-road, you should get the Rivian. If you're on-road almost exclusively, then the Gravity wins hands down.
Unfortunately, they didn't have a 3rd row Gravity to compare, because that comfort is far better than in the R1S.

Edmunds suck, I never trust anything they say. They liked the i7 over the Air. Guess which one sells more?

I think it's worthwhile to hear their opinions. Part of the problem, ironically, is that Lucid sets itself up as a luxurious vehicle, so it becomes easy to pick on it for loud seat motors or sun shades that aren't practical, while the Rivian sets itself as a tough boy vehicle, so noisier cabin, rougher ride, poor handling, etc. are what they expect.

No doubt there are way in which Lucid can improve the Gravity. Every vehicle can be improved, except maybe by old '66 Jag E-Type convertible.

And they dont have basic sense of reading the manual to install sunshades and blame the car and price 😂

I am talking about the Lucid sunshades for gravity they got and complaining in the video on how it need the sun-visor to support, it complete BS. Lucid provides many clips that go on the shades and tuck into the roof line for support, instead they just used one clip and want to propagate to World that Lucid is dumb to use sun visor as support which is not true.

At 2.51 he stats talking about thus and blaming Lucid and the price of gravity for there ignorance. If they call them as Auto bloggers, please do some basic home work or this may be deliberate attempt just to throw some dust on.
 
Another piece is in cabin tech. Gravity is superior due to the glass cockpit and surround sound pro is much better than our R1S top of line sound. Our R1S has an insanely slow touch screen.

I don’t completely agree on the value piece. A quad r1S is $125,000. They said they got 3.0 seconds 0-60. Only way to do that is with the quad.

I get lucid is luxury, but I still think, sadly, Edmunds has become a trash, click bait rag. I used to really rely on it.

Ok, true, BUT we all know that Lucid should have electrochroamatic glass in the GT. Same for Volvo EX90. My wife has it in the ID Buzz and it's unreal what a difference it makes. It would be awesome to have in the Gravity on the front window, assuming there isn't some sort of regulations reason that they can't. But also, yeah, I saw him do this in the video and shook my head.
 
Truly not a serious review... Not sure how they're getting their cargo score and feels disingenuous to assess value based on Lucids most expensive trim while not doing the same for Rivian and also giving no consideration for the cheaper touring coming out this year.

That was the same guy who went and sat in the back seat of an i7 and dished on the Air. He preferred keeping his butt nice and cosy while watching movies on the i7 rear monitor vs picking the drivers car! Pathetic, these people bring disgrace to auto journalism.

He said Lucid’s second row ventilation was just through the center console and complained how it sucks cuz it just blows cold air on your legs and they should have vents up high. Like hello bitch, look as the door pillars, what are those things you see at body level? Are those air vents? And anybody who says the R1S interior is more luxurious than the Air is on drugs. And then he deliberately omitted the Lucid’s superior cargo space and tried to make it sound like Rivian 3rd row was great pretending he couldn’t possibly have any knowledge of how big the Gravity 3rd row was by comparison so can’t comment on it (has he never been to an auto show? Can’t go to a Lucid studio?). I don’t know why they keep doing deliberate hit pieces on Lucid, I mean they can’t be unaware of how deliberately deceptive they’re being. And how about that other lie he told where he said “Rivian makes you do everything through one central screen just like the Lucid”? Uh no dumbass, Lucid has two separate screens you can have different things on, which was something you complained about the Air not doing and then are now pretending Gravity UI is a one screen thing like the Rivian? He also complained about the Gravity HVAC extensively and you could see the idiot had the fan on 1. The Gravity HVAC is actually so good I’m constantly having to dial it back. Like it’s one thing to be critical of real things but these jerks are just fabricating non-issues.

Yes, Gravity has issues but dont see him talking munch on the real issues what owners are complaining. I feel like this should be a blacklisted URL like other website who manipulates the information.

So far the only thing I miss in the Gravity from the Rivian are the better quality (Gen 2) cameras. I’m not even sure what resolution the Gravity cameras are but right now it’s like 2005 webcam quality vs Rivian’s 4k 60fps.

And I am talking about how I didn't see instructions for installing them in the manual as you claimed in your first post. Do the instructions come with the shades themselves?
 
It was a laughably lazy review. He ragged on “problems” with the Gravity that were really RTFM user errors. Like hating on the steering wheel swipe controls because he was using them wrong, or completely screwing up sun shade installation, and blaming it on Lucid’s “design choices”. He thought he was being funny while constantly whispering “minivan” as if that was a dig. He also said the 828 HP Gravity Grand Touring is the only model available, and while technically true today (since the Dream Edition has sold out), he could have mentioned the Dream Edition’s specs — especially horsepower — and the fact it kicked the quad motor R1S’ ass in the quarter mile (J Camissa’s test). But no.

What’s really sad is the fact the inaccuracies sprinkled throughout the clip will be spread far and wide. Even if he records a corrected version, the damage has already been done. Seems like Lucid just can’t get a break with Edmunds folks.

Oh the inaccuracies already are being spread far and wide. A few people have posted on the FB group already worried about cup holder size, steering wheel buttons and HVAC after that video. The damage is done.

The cup holder thing was ridiculous. He hauls a giant container (from off screen for dramatic effect) into view and is seemingly surprised it doesn’t fit. 🙄

Yeah, the second one I can see as it's one of the Stanley "big dumb cups" that every mom seems to haul around these days but that first one has to fail in every car in their tests.
