EA HyperFast charging indeed

Ok - while I love my Lucid, my frustration over the range I'm getting the charging experiences I have had at EA stations is coming to a high. I pulled up to an EA station and plugged into a 350 kW charger and for a moment was happy with my charging rate of ~230 kW. However, in less than 5 minutes, I was significantly below 200 kW. Please see the following picture;

Next, I waited about 10 minutes from then and I'm down to 129 kW. This is crazy! To say that I can charge above 200 kW while factually correct is practically ridiculous. Add to that, I have reported issues to Lucid and they respond fairly quickly but then set expectations they don't meet. I have been waiting over two weeks for them to respond to my last query regarding a concern over this issue. By the way, the following picture shows that a mere nine minutes later, I am at 129 kW;

Your pictures don't work.

What was your state of charge? The high speeds are only possible at low SOC and then there's a drop-off as the SOC increases. Here's the charging curve Tom Moloughney got with the DE for reference:

SmartSelect_20230601_230035_Chrome.jpg

My SOC started at around 13%. The drop was so precipitous that I couldn't believe it. Thanks for sharing the graph. It is interesting.

Your slow charging speed is likely an issue with the EA charger. This may be a cooling issue with the charging cable. When the cable/connector cooling loop is not working, the charger limits current to limit the cable temperature. Next time you see this, try the other cable on the charger or try another charger.

150kW charger today. Nice!
