Driver’s door handle stiff and don’t open door easily

The driver‘s door handle is kind of hard to use we pull it. The door doesn’t open in instantaneously like it does another handles or even on my Lucid air. You have to pull it and wait a moment and then it’s like something happened to me. The door unlocked so I’m not sure but even when the door handles present and unlock it just doesn’t open the door easily so we’re gonna take it in and see what they have to say.

Let me know what they tell you. My Gravity is the same (for all doors). I presumed it’s because the window has to roll down first before you can open the door.

Definitely not a smooth mechanism or action.

You’re probably better off posting this in the Interior & Exterior forum. This doesn’t sound like software issue.

There is a split second delay in the door opening due to the electronic mechanism and window adjustment.

Rather than a quick yank simply hold the light-moderate tension on the handle. It will open with moments hesitation and feels mostly fine to me. Not a problem to adapt to this as the owners but haven't had the chance for a friend to open the door and see if they end up trying to yank the door handle off because they expect to be pulling the door open instantly. My 4 and 6yo seem to do fine with it.

The door handles do feel a bit cheap to me so I'm curious how they would hold up in that scenario where somebody pulls hard and doesn't anticipate the opening hesitation. I don't recall the circumstance but one owner had their passenger door handle fall off but I recall there was an assumption of missing adhesive?


The door handles and charging door both leave something do be desired as flimsy touch points. You can sense the door handle almost flex slightly when opening, even after learning to modulate the opening pull force to account for the slightest delay. Wish they felt more solid.

Today I walked over to the car and the driver’s handle was sticking out by itself, and I locked the car with the key and then the handle went in out and out and out on its own a few times
This actions plus the handle being stiff makes me think that there’s a problem with the mechanism like it doesn’t know if it should lock or be open anyway it’s going in for service tomorrow and that is on the list. Anyone have an experience like this with the door handle goes in out and

This is a frustrating issue. I have some doors that open a lot more smoothly than others. Passenger front door is really hard to open compared to others.

Same here, passenger front is a hard pull compared to others where its a pull with very minimal effort and the door pops open.

The very small delay when pulling the handle is normal. If it requires excessive force to get the door open is not normal.

In my case my rear passenger side door had shade / window rolling broken. I wasn't able to roll up the shade or roll down the window. The service replaced the motor inside which fixed the problem. But they broke the door handle. It would one the door. They caught that before returning the car and replaced the door handle. It opens now but required excessive force. I had to really lift the handle for the car to register that I'm trying to open it.
They sent a mobile service as follow up thinking they just need to update firmware. Firmware was up to date. A week later mobile service cam back and replaced the door handle again but the issue persisted. Mobile service thinks that the issue is with cinch latch, but they don't have any spare parts and I need to wait. I hope the issue will be fixed after replacing this latch.

I had this problem which I posted about here https://lucidowners.com/threads/pas...-a-road-trip-plus-more-road-trip-notes.14176/. It started misbehaving, sometimes getting stuck open. sometimes getting stuck closed, and trying to open and close several times in a row. I had Lucid Mobile come out and replace the handle, but the new one makes a weird grinding sound, so now they have to come out and replace it again .
