Door Opening Fix: New Phone

So, about a month ago I had the misfortune of dropping my iPhone 15 in a lake. On the bright side, I had to upgrade to the latest and greatest iPhone 17. And guess what? Now the doors on my car open basically every time as they are supposed to. Seriously, my door opening failure rate over the last month has dropped from something wonky (or at least a pause) about 10 percent of the time, to nearly perfect (I think I've had a single incident where they didn't open immediately).

Bottom line, Apple changed something, and using my phone as a key and proximity device for opening the doors on my Air has gone from a bit of an eye roll to working as it's supposed to. Yea!

Mine only works 20% of the time. Sometimes it takes several minutes to connect and open the doors then more time for the car to allow driving, using the IPhone 17Pro Max.

But I think you're correct. The whole thing rests on the phone and car smoothly communicating via Bluetooth. When it doesn't work, we are quick to blame the car (and it very well could be) but really how many times have you seen your phone glitch? And it has nothing to do with the specific make and model of the phone, just THAT phone in particular...
