I've owned a ton of cars over the years; this is a first. Took my parents, my wife and kid out for Mother's Day last night. Got to the restaurant and my wife couldn't close the door....it bounced off the body. Driver's side rear door....seems the latching mechanism inside was sticking to the "open" position and the Gravity thought the door was open even when closed against the latch.

Luckily, slamming the door 4-5 times got it unstuck and it latched properly and the rear window raised to close, just in time for a major rainstorm to pass by.

Waiting for a call back now to schedule a mobile tech. I'd suspect no lubrication was applied from the factory but will let them sort it out before rendering it functional on my own.
 
This happened to me exactly once, about a month ago. I think it's a software glitch. It's a super-weird (and possibly dangerous) thing, though.
 
I had this problem when I took delivery, once it warmed up the problem stopped. Tech said that its a possible alignment issue with the latch. You can also try closing the door firmly and then it should try to latch itself if you have the soft-close feature. It's also related to the window position regulator, sometimes it loses track of the position, and the door doesn't close because it wants to lower the window a bit first. I used to pull up on the handle to try to reset it....Or lower the window all the way down and then back up to reset.
 
This happened after a 30min drive.

The window not working properly was an ongoing issue so likely could be related.
 
I had this happen today. The driver door handle & mirror wouldn’t present when unlocked. I had to climb in the rear and go over the center console to open the door from the inside.

Once in the driver’s seat the door wouldn’t latch and I got a latch error. None of the 4 windows would open either. Soft-close wasn’t functioning, nor the mirror fold button.

I did several hard resets, but it did not fix the problem.

I drove the car home and let it go to sleep. Now it’s working correctly. I believe this is a software problem.
 
This has happened to me a few times with the drivers door. I think a temporary fix is to lower the window a little then try to close the door. My window kept auto lowering 1/2 way so the only way to close the window was to close it in increments till it was just cracked1/4 inch

When I had this happen the window wouldn’t function, none of the windows worked. Nor could I unfold the mirror. It was definitely a software issue.
