I have not seen any confirmation on this. This impacts the energy usage for heating and cooling especially in the cold.

I found this article that states there is no heat pump. That could explain why the efficiency has not been good as expected.

Totally understand the battery and cold effects. Thats well known. Whats not well known is if there is truly a heat pump or not in the Gravity.

I've been searching for documentation on it and there's nothing official from Lucid. Only for the Air. The only documentation I found was that link I shared which says Gravity does not have one. With all the supply chain issues, I'm hoping they didn't revert to resistive heating for these early builds.

I certainly hope it does have a HP but looking for official verification. Thanks in advance.

It's in the owner's Manual [pg 105] under Heating, Ventilation Air Conditioning:

NOTE: The Lucid Gravity uses a​
heat pump for climate control.​
When operating cabin cooling or​
heating, you may hear some faint​
electrical motor sounds. This is​
normal.​

P.S. I got this info using Grok, and confirmed in the Owner's Manual.
 
Perfect. Thank you for the confirmation!! I used a couple of other AIs (Claude, Gemini, and Chat) when researching. I should have tried Grok too!
 
All you have to do to confirm is turn on the heater and step outside in front of the car and you will wish you hadn't. The jet engine sound you hear and feel is the air being pulled through the evaporator of the heat pump. Many who complained about it in milder temperatures aren't any more!
