Delivery Lead Time - Please Explain

I recently placed a deposit on a Touring that showed it is available. I have went through financing and everything is approved. My sales rep tells me that the vehicle is waiting to be PDI’d and needs to be detailed. I thought I was going to get the car this week. But looks like it’s going to be next week. I live in San Francisco and will need to fly down to SoCal to pickup the car and drive it back.

I wish there’s more information on the lead time to help me with my trip planning. Also, I don’t understand why it takes such a long time to do PDI and detail the car. I’m seeking insights from others who have gone through the process.

Shouldn't Lucid ship yours to San Francisco?

They’re offering onsite credit to pickup the vehicle in SoCal which I’m fine to do so. Plus, this gives me an excuse to do a roadtrip and get to know the car.

I had the a similar frustrating experience while getting my AT at Millbrae in Dec 2024 with delivery date moving several times despite the vehicle being there...

Somewhat similar. I ordered mine yesterday and was hoping to get it this weekend, but turned out the soonest they could do it was next Monday. I am not in a rush so I didn't mind.

I assumed (but not really positive) that even though Lucid is a relatively low volume seller, they also don't have a lot of delivery centers and so they seem to get booked up full some days.

Thanks for the feedback. After I posted my question, a couple days later, I received more information. The overall delivery process is a bit truncated, so even though there's an online dashboard to show key milestones, the details of these steps aren't entirely clear.

I'm picking up my car this Friday. Can't wait!

How long from order to delivery will that be?

If I pickup the car this Friday (as-planned), then it will be a total of 12 days from the day I put down my deposit.

My experience is one-off as I originally ordered an Air Pure (showed in transit to SFO/Milbrae) on March 9th. Then, a couple of days later after not receiving any information, I inquired with the sales rep on the ETA. After a few back-and-forth, the sales rep came back and stated the car was actually still in Arizona. They were experiencing logistical issues and the car will not be delivered by end of March. At that point, I had to look for a different car. I ended up choosing the Air Touring that was available in Orange County.

This is the dashboard (see circled in RED). The dashboard basically lists the key milestones. If your car is still in AZ, you’ll need to get the sales rep to do some additional follow-up. Being so close to end of quarter and after being told Lucid has logistical issues, you’ll want to get more solid information whether they can deliver the car to your location.

Just underneath that section on my dashboard I have a section that shows my cars VIN, the delivery date and time, and the delivery location. If you don't have any of that I would definitely try to call and talk to a salesperson.

Yeah I got VIN and delivery location but no updates on any of that still. I was told yesterday the car left the factory. Sure is pretty though.
