Delivery day arrived, yesterday. Originally scheduled 10 days earlier, there was some problem with the second row seats so the service center held it back.
AND I fricking love it. This is my first EV and it is impressive on multiple levels: Build Quality, fit and finish, materials, features, operation, performance, ride quality. Massive props to the general thoughtfulness and attention of the team putting the thing together.
Some early delivery customers took an early-adopter beating for sure. So far, knock wood, I'm finding the UI/UX is really deep and capable, but it will take some time and familiarity to triage and gain ongoing utility in some of the more nuanced features. The obvious needs (seat functions, mirrors, climate) are all very obvious. Dream Drive Pro seems really slick, and I'm certain it will only get better. The San Jose (CA) service center was very good and my rep took the time (2.5hrs) to go through all the features in painstaking detail.
I was most concerned about the key fob/recognition/comatose vehicle after spending time in the forums. The last thing you want is to inconvenience or strand your family or friends, again knock wood, operation has been flawless so far. The proximity sensor in the fob is great, the door handle presents when ever I'm idk ~15-20' away. The app works great, and the key card also are working as expected.
My Gravity was delivered with ver 3.3.5 SW and the message that it was ready to upgrade to 3.3.9 when on my home wifi. Scheduled that last night and it worked great. The keyfob also got an update via my phone.
Only one glitch so far which is the frunk release. It takes two bites at the apple to get it open: it tries, hits a resistance, resets, then tries again and opens the lid. The U-shaped catch seems to be loose, which looks like something I could tighten myself, but I'll let the service center take care of it. The only inconsequential nit is the phone has to be tucked into the corner to use the wireless charger in the tray. The phone does charge through the case (despite being advised against).
Overall, I'm really happy, BIG FAN, at this point. Granted, we are deep in honeymoon period for sure (but she's still beckoning me into bed). I took the decision that I was going to keep the Gravity for at least 6-8 years (generally my habit) and so purchased the thing outright instead of leasing. I've ordered an adapter (nema 6-20) to work with my 240V power supply in my shop, so getting the charging dialed in will be my next hurdle (which doesn't seem high). I would really love to see a cable/dongle that works with the lucid interface, but no such luck.
Really happy to officially be part of the Lucid owners family, and appreciate everyone's input and support on this forum.
