I appreciate I may be jinxing this whole thing, but nonetheless sharing what I hope is a balanced view of our Gravity ownership. We took delivery in Nov 2025 of what I can only assume is a relatively early build.
I can say it's now sorted and been working amazing in the past 2 weeks since it's been returned. Got it into a service appointment on July 25th and swapped to the Chicago Goose Island SC with a loaner. They managed to return the Gravity to us at 3PM Sept 4th, just in time to take it on a 380 mi roundtrip road trip over the Labor Day weekend and shake out everything. Had a very well-specced 2026 Air Touring, zenith red, tahoe, stealth and loaded. Was a great loaner during the 6 weeks, felt so long I actually had to add air into the tires to get it back to good efficiency lol. Also; when I opened the driver's window, pressing up always made it go up, and pressing down always made it go down (imagine the novelty). On the plus side, having our car unavailable 6 weeks will give us some extra lease mileage coverage.
It was in for a couple categories of issues, some a more common on this forum, some related to early build quality which we kind of expected. Did not expect needing a 9 months to get a fix from service.
Recall:
2nd Row seat replaced: Had this diagnosed in April mobile tech inspection. They replaced the seat, it's a simple unbolt old/bolt in new job once parts actually arrive. They are augmenting help with a Lucid approved body shop next door.
Build Quality Issues:
Glass Canopy/Windshield alignment: There was minor alignment issue here, no functional issue. They trimmed some seal that was bunched and sticking out between the front windshield and rear glass canopy.
2nd Row Outlet: Found the outlet was soft seated and connected it back. This required taking the center console apart along with unbolting the front seats.
Driver Window Regulator: In our car's case it was found out of alignment and hitting the seal and bouncing back to that reset/recalibrate position. It has gone up and down with each expected button press every time since...Also supported by the same body shop.
All in the Chicago team did great work sorting the car out. They really always seem to be accommodating and easy to work with. That being said, the process to go through the studio phone system to schedule an appointment, even after filling out the form on the website portal to go into a blackhole needs work. I also felt like I had to manage this like a project, there was no communication unless I called every 2 weeks to check status. Particularly strange after sending someone a recall notice letter in the mail and then having a very difficult time to schedule and execute the work.
I did get a Lucid Owner's club invite for an event at the SC early next month, including a Q&A with Execs that I will take up.
Otherwise I feel like the Gravity is now where is should have been at or near launch between the fixes and OTA, we have all the accessories - Frunk seat, Lucid Shades, Tuxmat Floormats and seatback protection to have the car setup and ready for both weather extremes in Chicago.
