Lucid Air Touring
I was picking up my new Lucid Air Touring on Saturday. During shipping from inspection to destination they scratched the side mirror and door.

I was told that I can wait for the car to be repaired, but they said that could take up to 4 weeks and could risk some of the rebates (conquest and local delivery) that I have applied at this point if they are not extended for the next month. Alternatively they are happy to "deliver the car to me and pay for the repair when a timeslot for repair becomes available." I understand things happen but I'm left feeling like either I risk missing out on rebates or take a car that isn't in perfect condition and spend my time getting it repaired. The repair shop is a 20 mile drive that will take 35-40 minutes each way, probably between 3 and four hours of my time.

What would you do?

I know down the road I will need crossbars for the roof. Could I ask for those as compensation for my time getting it fixed? Does anyone know if they have the ability to do this?

Thanks,
Matthew

If the Lucid studio has another car with the same spec get it.

Fairly specific spec; I wanted Tahoe interior, white, upgraded sound, premium package and not stealth. Nothing that matches my specs currently available.

Found the exact car I wanted but without the damage!

I would probably accept the car unless another comparable one was available. Lucid will make things right with the repair and probably set you up with a loaner while you wait. That's good the service center is nearby.

Accept the car.

Same thing happened to me - 2 scratches/chips on the driver's rear door. It was the last week of March so I took delivery to keep my incentives (for Q1) . Had a "Due Bill" created to document what needed to be done.

They picked up the car and gave me a loaner AT for the few days it was at Gold Coast Autobody (that's where Goose Island sends em). They honored my request to do local repair (I did not want a full panel respray/overspray) and it came out great (I was not seeking perfection), even honored my ask to not wash the car - it was a great experience.

I'd take delivery - and get it fixed afterwards. Stuff happens.

The person I was dating wasn't perfect, but I still married her...don't let perfection prevent you from taking home a car that is gonna make you grin wide when you drive it...and you won't even be worrying about the scratch same time next year...get the car and Lucid service is generally very good...

I’d accept it and have them fix it. They’ll make it right.
