Bought the Lucid a month ago, just got in the crossbars. Starting the install. Reading the prior posts, i'm assuming the vendor is different now. The kit, for instance, comes w/ a torque tool to prevent overtightening.
I have the metal roof. So no worry about cracking. But step 03 raises a question. They give you a hex head "paint cutting tool". But looking at the exposed access point, there is a torx T30 bolt head. I'm assuming prior builds had no screw installed, so the recessed threads got paint on them, ergo, the need for a paint cutting tool.
But, I'm not a fan of removing screws w/o knowing there is nothing underneath that will fall off. Can anyone confirm that is the intent here? Should I just remove the T30 bolt and mount the crossbar attach?
