I get that there are software issues. I’m wondering how widespread they are. Is it the vocal minority that is dominating the silent majority who are, for the most part, happy in spite of some of the problems?

Very hard to tell. If you judge by this forum, a high percentage of people are experiencing unacceptable software (and hardware) problems. The real world story appears to be different.

Here is another video for those of us trying to avoid the sky is falling discussions over on the Engineering Explained video thread. In the end Colton makes a few critical remarks about some panel gaps and choices of plastic in certain areas but overall sums up review that Gravity is very well done, with excellent choice of high quality materials and mostly great fit and finish.

hey, that's @copper !

You may want to check my longer reply in his thread. In short I think a lot of the software issues can be avoided with a reboot after an update and giving the time for the car to properly boot when started, especially if it has been sitting idle for a longer time. An electric car is basically a big computer with wheels and it should be handled and maintained like one

I've always suspected that people who are having real problems with the cars are just a lot louder about it, particularly in social media. We pay a lot more attention to the things in our lives that are frustrating us, than to the things that just work or joys that we take for granted. It seems like it has a lot to do with expectations, as well. The further we get from legacy automotive into technology platform the more likely we are to have the kind of quirks and bugs that computer programs have always been prone to. I think the Lucid products are attempting to be something great, instead of just something serviceable. That comes with its own set of challenges and risks. The SavageGeese video on the Gravity touched on this, e.g. trying to reengineer too much and doing it all yourself. Overall, I love my Gravity for what it is and appreciate what it's aspiring to be, even if it comes up short sometimes. There's room in this world for people who fall on the ice while attempting a quad instead of landing a perfect double lutz.
