Convo with Derek Jenkins on drivetrain stress

During today's unexpected meetup with Derek in Millbrae, I asked him about the mechanical stress on the Air's engine. This is one heavy but quick car, the amount of stress on the moving parts must be phenomenal as we launch the car from standing still to triple digits. I've always worried if repeatedly launching in Sprint mode can damage the drivetrain.

Derek pretty much smiled and say, have fun and launch. He mentioned how he sits next to the department where Lucid stress test all the components, and all these are within the design parameters. That was very reassuring to hear from him.
