With the new software update what is the maximum speed at with lucid charges at a Tesla supercharger? I believe it was limited to 50kw

50kW on V3 / V3.5
Up to 350 kW on V4

Software can’t improve the 50 kW rate on legacy Tesla v3 stations. The Air doesn’t have the hardware necessary to upconvert the lower voltage.

The good news is Tesla has shifted to v4 for all new stations and v3 is being phased out.

Following this thread — I've been wondering whether the speed cap is a software/protocol negotiation between the car and Tesla's network, or whether the adapter hardware itself can be a limiting factor. If someone's using a third-party NACS-to-CCS1 adapter instead of the OEM Lucid one, does the adapter's current rating come into play? The Air's CCS1 port is rated up to 300 kW, which works out to roughly 300A at ~1000V. Curious if an adapter rated lower than that could become the bottleneck even before the network's own speed cap.

And has nothing to do with the NACS->CCS adapter specs.

From what I recall, the limitation of 50kW is only on Tesla V3 superchargers. Tesla V4 superchargers I believe are 800V and should charge at a higher kW.

I had a fantastic surprise at a Tesla V3 WAWA station close to my home in Fairfax VA last night. After running a few errands I pulled into the charging area and saw the side charging unit was open, so decided on a whim to charge from 59% to 80. Reached for my iPhone (both my Lucid and Tesla apps are complete with an assigned CC) and I had forgotten it at home, so there I was with no access to my Lucid app, or my Tesla app. Said to myself, “what the heck” got my Lucid adapter out and plugged in anyway. Charging began immediately without having to identify which unit I was using. Amazing. Exactly like Tesla owners get to do when charging, no hassle, just plug in. I charged to 80% at the expected 47kw rate and immediately got an email receipt from Lucid Motors with all the details and cost of the charging that just happened. Completely hassle free. Hurrah for Lucid software team! Progress is being made.

Has it been confirmed yet that Airs will charge at 300kw on V4 chargers or is that just conjecture?

Was this feature enabled on the latest Air software version 2.9.2?

This capability already existed, from Lucid: “Lucid’s Plug & Charge (via Lucid Charging Services) allows your vehicle to communicate directly with compatible public chargers like Electrify America, automatically initiating the session and processing billing through your saved credit card without opening an app or using a physical payment card.”
What was surprising to me was the seamless handshake at a Tesla supercharger, with no app. It was a V3 supercharger so it was unable to charge at a high rate (a deficiency of the Tesla design, not Lucid’s, as you may know). V4 superchargers when fully installed will supposedly be able to handle Lucid’s 800v architecture.

I use the Lucid NACS>CCS1 adapter for my ‘26 Air Pure, and never encountered a problem. To my knowledge there are no true V4 superchargers in mass installations in the U.S, maybe one so I hear. There some new superchargers black and white V4 towers popping up, and I’ve charged at one of them in Baltimore, with longer chords and more convenient parking + spacing, but these new towers are V3.5 output, not V4. I was at 8% and received 47kW steadily, which is near the limit of 50 kW because as you know Tesla V3 + V3.5 superchargers cannot handle the 800V architecture of Lucid Air’s. the handshake was seamless, and payment was automatic to my Lucid app CC, and this was before the 2.9.3 update.

Yes, I have had similar experience charging at Tesla V4 superchargers with V3.5 cabinets. Each time, I got 47kW rate.
I was really hoping to find out if anyone here as charged at a true V4 supercharger with V4 cabinets and if so, what charging rate did they experience. I believe these V4 cabinet Superchargers now do exist and propping up slowly around the county. The Bay Area has one I believe around Redwood City.

I remember hearing of someone who did, and got the same charging speeds as you would expect at a competent 350kW 920V CCS charging station.

Tesla app show stations with 325 kW and 250 kW. Will the Lucid Air be limited to 50 kW at the 250 kW stations? Charge at 325 kW at 325 kW stations?

The Air is limited to 50kW at V3 stations (short cable V3 pedestals and 450 Volt V3 power cabinets, 250kW) and V3.5 stations (long cable V4 pedestals and 450 Volt V3 cabinets, 325 kW).
It will charge at its full capability at V4 stations (long cable V4 pedestals and 1000 Volt V4 cabinets, up to 500kW).

Just checking again if anyone here has first hand experience of charging at a true V4 charger (with V4 cabinets). If so, what charging rate did you get in your Air?
