Charging now that it's no longer free. . .

Two years ago, I picked up the car on a Thursday, and the next day I drove from San Francisco to LA. Now, I'm about to repeat the trip, but this time I don't have free charging. So I've got a couple of what I hope aren't really stupid questions.

#1) Does my car connect with EA using the Lucid app? Or do I need to go through EA directly? Is there any sort of discount for using the Lucid app, or is it the same price as if I just used a credit card?

#2) Obviously I'm no longer stuck just using EA. Are there better chargers out there along I-5? Same price? How do I find the fastest chargers?

You can do either. You can add a credit card for charging to your account at lucidmotors.com and plug-and-charge should work like it used to, just with a bill at the end. If you don't, or if you start your charge with a credit card or the EA app first, you'll skip the Lucid account. Lucid doesn't currently have any discounted rates (though the plan is to change that at some point), so it's the same as EA with no EA membership. EA's membership rates are cheaper if you're going to charge more than a couple times.

Our west coasterners will have more specific advice, but always check plugshare.com to find chargers and check their recent reviews. You can filter by (advertised) speed, then check reviews to see what people have actually been getting. Just disregard when the Chevy Bolt owners complain that they aren't getting the full 350kW...

The Lucid app is very seamless and will automatically take over when you plug in. That's both good and bad. Lucid app does not handle discounts like subscriptions so if the lucid app takes over you pay full price. The EA app is super clunky and takes multiple tries of the same thing before they recognize your subscription discounts. Unfortunately, when the ea app fails, often your Lucid app dominates. What I've had to do is remove my credit card from the Lucid app so that it won't take over and bill me and just use EA even though they're annoyingly buggy.
 
Has anyone had success with an adapter and the Tesla chargers? Do they show up in the Lucid nav gps? How do you identify which Tesla chargers offer the adapter charging?

Tesla Superchargers are not yet available to the Air. Lucid has said this will start in "Q2".
Exceptions: A very very few Tesla "Magic Dock" Supercharger locations do work with the Air, at about 50kW.

Tesla "destination" (level 2 AC) charging stations at hotels etc generally work with a J1772 adapter.
