So I purchased a Tesla tap as well as another adapter and both only charge for 40-45 miles and then stops. Does anyone know what the problem is? Does anyone have a recommendation for an adapter that will work with my current Tesla Home Charger?

Maybe an issue with the car? I've used a TeslaTap with destination chargers many times without issues.

Does these chargers use a NEMA outlet? If so, make sure the NEMA outlet is a high quality one like hubble or Bryant versus cheap home depot ones. They are a fire hazard and known cause similar issues due to heating up, etc.

I personally use Lectron adapter and consistently get 11.5kW charging from my Tesla Wall Charger. I do notice when it's really hot especially this past summer, it'll drop down to 5kW but back to 11kW once it cools down.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but this may be what’s happening to me under the same circumstances. It’s recently gotten much hotter down here and in my garage and after 2+ months of no issues all of a sudden tonight I noticed by charging went down to 6kw. Hopefully just a temporary thing.
