I have a 7 YO Chargepoint charger. In September it started not working. I would get 'cable connected' but it would never kick in to charging. I cleaned out all of the leads and it would work sporadically. Since it had a 100 amp circuit anyway i had a plug installed and use the Lucid cable.
Today, at my other home, the same thing happened with my 6 YO Chargepoint. Drove to public Chargepoint a few blocks away and it started right up.at this house i am only running an 80 amp circuit.
I was planning on getting the Lucid Charger with my $1k credit and hardwiring into 100 amp circuit, but can't use the Lucid cable at house #2 since it is an outdoor connection and i can't install a outlet.
Any ideas on why these 2 chargers seem to have failed? Any suggestions for reliable charging?
Unfortunately my Bolt is at the other house so i can't see if it works with it.
Thanks

Was the public Chargepoint you drove to also an AC level 2 (slow) charger? Is Lucid's mobile charging cable working OK with your car?
If yes, your level 2 charging problems sound like a coincidence, however unlikely.

The car's charging circuitry for AC level 2 charging is 90% separate and unrelated to the circuitry used for DC fast charging - in case that is the type of Chargepoint station you drove to.

Yes. Public charger is level 2 (free). Don't have the Lucid Cable with me as i don't have a 240 outlet here.
Weird coincidence.
Thanks

I have issues with my CP charger at home as well. It worked fine for 3 years. With the new Lucid, I have to turn power off at the breaker every time I want to charge it.

Used a qtip and alcohol to clean the plug. Working now. A lot of black soot came out

After three and a half years my ChargePoint home charger WiFi failed to connect. I have it on a 60 amp circuit and have charged at 48 amps without a problem , although frequently have to reset the circuit breaker. Of course the warranty is only for three years so unless I want to spend another $500 I will not have connectivity but can still charge. I followed all troubleshooting procedures and have requested a good will replacement but am not holding my breath. Did they engineer their hardware that way? Very unusual for a board or whatever it is called to fail given that it has been in the dry, stable environment of my garage. At least I can still charge and will depend on my Lucid app for charging status and level, but will not be able to monitor activity cumulatively as with the CP app. Is this a know problem or am I the only one to experience failure?

I had my HomeFlex replaced under warranty a couple weeks after the warranty expired. ChargePoint did it for free (which is great) but their attitude negated any goodwill they had created by agreeing to replace it.
