Rivian R1S
First post in this forum.

First up, thanks to the active members from whom I have gleaned a wealth of information in the last several weeks of months. I decided to part ways with my 2023 quad motor R1S about 2 months ago and in the lead up to its sale last month, was seeking an EV replacement. Since we got the Rivian, we have seen two teenagers leave high school and the need for multiple SUVs at home dropped. I have a liking for sedans and sport coupes and initially contemplated a Mach E and another sports coupe ICE but reading around and on the hunch of a colleague began exploring the Air more intensely. With favorable reviews of its handling characteristics, the Lucid came up top as well as the Taycan. The latter is not only significantly more expensive in the 4S guise (heck even in the T4 guise considering the current Lucid incentive), but also has significantly less range and is more cramped in the back. Settled on the AT instead of AGT as I knew I would not miss the 0.4 seconds at 0-60. I probably launched the Rivian less than a half dozen times in the 2 years of ownership. I have not tracked any of my cars in over a decade. Real use rapid street torque during daily driving was more important and I found the touring to be very able and more than sufficient. With the current economic environment and the wonderful interior of the Rivian in Tahoe, I was sold and ended up leasing one.

So far, having the expected quirks with initial phone as key set up and Spotify shutting off the playlist on me, but software expectations are well tempered after extensive reading in the forum and a multitude of text reviews and online videos. The drive, on the other hand is a hoot. First 309 mile trip completed on 20" tires without charging. Obtaining an average of 3.77 mile per KwH at speeds primarily averaging about 72 mph (range high 60's to low 80's) was a revelation for one used to getting 2.2 -2.4 m/KwH on "conserve" in the truck. Personally, also glad to be sitting closer to ground level and I have quickly relearned ducking to save my head while entering a car!

Looking forward learning even more and contributing on the forum
