I have an Air Pure with aluminum roof. One of the cartop carrier mount hole inserts disappeared (blew off/was stolen). I contacted my local parts department and was told that this small piece of plastic that snaps into the cartop carrier mount hole when the carrier is not installed is not available for individual sale. I must instead purchase the entire driver's side roof molding for approximately $170. I should point out that a similar (but not interchangeable with aluminum top Air inserts) for use on glass-top Lucid Airs is available for individual sale for about $16.

I worry that that this practice might cause irate owners to cover the hole with a piece of bright orange duct tape and a placard explaining why they opted for tape instead of the insert, and maybe even post on youtube. I like my Lucid, but I worry that I won't be able to get service for it if the company continues to alienate customers,

Also, this doesn't allow me to create tags, but doesn't list available tags, leaving me instead to resort to guess.

I made a post about this almost a year ago when I first got my Pure with the solid roof. I hate these things so much. It’s to me a single worst exterior engineering choice that they made on the car. I lost two of them in the first few months and to be honest, I think that they were just installed incorrectly at the factory. Luckily the Miami service center down here actually had an extra trim piece lying around from a car that had damage and they were able to cannibalize the two little roof pieces from the longer trim piece and pop them on my car. I haven’t lost any since but stories like this makes me nervous for the future because I think I got lucky previously.
 
Now this concerns me. I purchase and installed the roof rails for our car before Christmas. I just removed them a few weeks ago since we don't need them for a while and reattached the covers. They did snap in, but the design makes me worried numerous installs of the roof rails, the covers will probably break at the attachment points.

Try checking eBay. More parts are showing up there.
 
I lost one of these inserts when it blew out after a car wash. Fortunately I was able to go back to the car wash and find it. Beware of the high speed air dryers at the car wash!

It’s the only semi mainstream sedan i can think of that doesn't do well in a car wash.
