I have a 25 AGT and it does not always connect with my CarPlay. Sometimes it will connect to mine but not my wife's. Sometimes here but not mine. And sometimes neither. Deleted and re-installed both phones and did a hard rested (logo) on the car but still have the intermittent problem. It probably happens about 20% of the time.

The other issue we have is that the audio volume will reduce when the nav instructions are being "voiced" but it sometimes stays reduced for very extended periods of time and then randomly increases again,

Has anybody dealt with this before? Any suggestions?

Lots of issues with carplay. Volume does not return or respond after a call at times. Connects to the wrong phone. Connects to a phone plugged into the charging cord even if that phone is not in any profile, many times does not connect - have to go into devices and touch the icon to connect. many times get connecting message and never connects, have lost the configuration and have to delete the car on the iPhone and reset the whole thing up - other than that it works great.

Does your wife drive the car a lot? If the answer is no, you might consider having your phone being the only one hooked to the car. I find that sometimes the car gets confused between two.

Tried that. Deleted her phone. If she plugs in to charge while I drive (wants to use the phone so not the wireless charger), the carplay connects to her phone even if it is already connected to mine. Seems the hard wired connection is primary even if the phone is not configured in the car. Car should connect to the phone in the profile being used whether wireless or plugged in. Also, if she gets into the car before me, not plugging in to charge, Carplay connects to her phone, not mine which is the active profile. Have to go into settings, devices and tell it to connect to mine - sometimes successful but many times get the trying to connect and never connects.

Try having your plug into the USB-C outlet facing the rear seat. I know this isn't ideal, but it will work.

Will try that with a long charger cable. Was also thinking of using a cigarette lighter charging adapter if there is that plug in the car to avoid the USB associated with CarPlay. Also was looking at USB C to USB C Data blocking charging cable. I will try the rear USB C port and if that works, purchase the data blocking cable for the front. Thanks
