2025 Lucid Air GT
I asked this on reddit here:

but figured I'd try here too.

2025 Lucid Air GR, version 2.9.0

I think starting around the last update I have not been able to disable the Drowsy Driver Warning and unfortunately any time I'm driving more than ~10-15 minutes it is triggering a lot of false positives, causing the alarm to go off. Is there any way to actually disable this setting?

  • When driving and the alarm is going off, pressing Dismiss on the suggestion to go to Starbuck's does not stop the actual alarm.
  • The only way I've found to stop the alarm is to disable the toggle while driving. Note, this always happens on the highways where there really isn't an opportunity to safely pull over or even easily exit since it's usually on a toll road with not a lot of exits and people driving really fast.
  • If I try to disable it while driving, it thankfully immediately disabled.
  • If I try to disable it while stopped, I get what happens in the linked video where it constantly toggles back. It generally takes me about 10+ tries to get it to stick.
  • Every time I leave and re-enter the vehicle, the setting is enabled again.
  • I've tried a hard reboot and that has not fixed the issue.
  • I've tried disabling the setting on my profile, my wife's profile, and the guest profile. That has not fixed the issue.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. If the feature worked as intended and I never knew it was on unless I was actually drowsy, I wouldn't care. Unfortunately, it always things I'm drowsy.

Where are you located? In Germany for example this is something which should be on every start. Same for lane assist and for driving to fast...
THis is really annoying but its law, and I guess in EU law.

not sure about US though

It's just a bug introduced in 2.9. You've already found the best workaround, which is to toggle it off while the car is driving, not stationary. Other than that, you'll just have to wait for a new release to fix it.

This is in the US. If the feature worked better, I would not care. Unfortunately for me, it 100% results in false positives anytime I drive for more than 10-15 minutes on highways. Without fail, I know that if I am driving to certain destinations I will get this alert even though my hands are on the wheel, my eyes are forward, I am in my lane, and I am completely alert.

Because the area I live in has lots of toll roads, it isn't exactly easy to just exit the road. Exits are few and far between so I am forced to do the incredibly dangerous thing and turn this feature off while driving 70 MPH because pressing dismiss does not stop the actual alarm.

Not sure its a bug. I think its by design. The automtic collision avoidance also now (since recent update) comes on with each restart and must be toggled off.

If you are in park, the toggle flips back on as soon as you click it off. Why would you have a toggle for something you can't turn off? But then if you do it while you are moving, it stays off. It's a bug.

I'd almost rather that be a bug than working as intended. If that's how it's meant to work, that is just embarrassingly bad UI/UX.

In my defense I've never changed it in park. I forget about it until the car applies the brakes and then I turn it off. Started with the most recent update. I also dislike how the car pops in advertising after the drowsy driver warning is triggered.

Honestly, the Starbuck's advertising is what made me initially turn it off shortly after getting the car. It's a feature I haven't even thought about until recently.

I already make it a point to not go to Starbuck's, but I really don't need my $100k+ car telling me to go to Starbuck's. That just felt especially scummy.

It is absolutely not by design.

It is not.

It does not tell you to go to Starbucks. It suggests you go to a coffee shop nearby, and it just so happens there are tons of Starbucks everywhere. If you are closest to “Joe’s Cup o’ Joe” it will recommend that instead.

It is not advertising.

Opinion or fact. If fact what's the source (unless of course it can't be devulged).

I've taken to turning off drowsy driver and collision avoidance before placing the car (Air) in gear. Right after selecting Swift as a drive mode.

Opinion, but if it really were due to “painting being hard,” I would think that were extremely idiotic. They traded “learn to paint” for “learn how to weld down springy stainless steel so it doesn’t pop off while driving” which is significantly harder, imho.
