Canada - Northern USA with actual winters: what's a realistic range expectation?

As the title states, what are people getting for efficiency during *real* winter?

I asked because I just got my Air GT a few weeks ago and live in Canada. Winter has arrived way too early and we're already hovering just above freezing and the efficiency is awful so i'm just wondering if it's because it struggles in the cold or if it's because my wife has the heat at an insane level (which is possible).

I'm getting around 3.8 km/kwh (~2.33 miles/kwh). I have the 19 inch winter wheels at 48 psi right now. As I said, we're hovering around freezing..maybe about 3-4 degrees higher.

As mentioned, wife is always cold...the heated seats are always and she puts the heat (AC button not on) at 25 (~77 Fahrenheit). I keep it around 21 (~69-70 F). 85% of driving around town.

So what have you been getting in these temps?
 
I have a 2023 Pure AWD. Non winter (above 50F, 10C) I get 3.8 to 4.2 (6.0 to 6.7 km/kw-hr) when its in the 20s ( single digits below zero C) I get 3.1 to 3.4 (4.9 to 5.4 km/kw-hr), below zero (below -20C) I get 2.6 to 3 (4.1 to 4.8). Coldest long trip I've taken was 200 miles where the temperature ran from -25F to -10F (-30C to -20C) I got 2.5 (4.0).

Short trips will be much lower as energy is being used to heat the car is spread over fewer miles. These averages are for highway trips ~200 miles.

good data here. Thanks for the detailed info.

I noticed that unlike the other EVs I've driven/had (taycan, ioniq, etc.), the lucid tends to show better numbers the longer you drive very consistently. So what you say about the shorter trips makes sense for this car; it's just odd I didn't see it in other EVs. Given that my wife puts the temperature so high, I think we should still be getting a little higher numbers. I'll play around with it. Thanks!
 
Is your Air GT new or used? Newer ones are a little more efficient and also have heat pumps that use less power to run. That being said, 2.33 mi/kWh seems low when reading the forums...

Is your Air GT new or used? Newer ones are a little more efficient and also have heat pumps that use less power to run. That being said, 2.33 mi/kWh seems low when reading the forums...
not one with a heat pump (used)....but yeah, it seems extremely low based on the forums and i can't figure out why other than the fact of the heat being too high in the car on one side. i've exceeded epa estimates in all my cars and/or got way better than the average except for this one and i can't figure out what i'm doing wrong.
 
 
'24 lucid AT, 20" wheels (no aero inserts).

I mainly drive highway (70% of all driving, avg highway speed 75-80 mph).

Overall, all-season avg mi/kwh is closer to 3. Warmer months (>50F) I'll estimate at 3.5 mi/kwh, winter average (<32F) closer to 2.5 mi/kwh.

If I'm mainly doing city driving during warmer months, I average 4-4.5 mi/kwh.

My range was trash in anything below 65 degrees with high regen on. My range actually went up with lower regen. The Lucid Air has a very small operating band, maybe 65-80 degrees with the 2025 heat pump, otherwise the range of plummets. Turn down regen and turn off the heat pump and be amazed at your range.
 
Northeast -- 2025 Air GT 20,000 miles 20" wheels. ~3.5 m/kw summer with summer tires, winter ~2.75 m/kw with all season radials. Lots of highway driving at 75-80 mph.
 
Good info here. I'm struggling to get 2.5 and it's hovering around freezing for a while now. Definitely disappointing...which means I'll be lucky to get 2 when the temperatures start becoming really cold :(

When you say you’re mostly driving around town, how short are the drives? If you heat up the car just to go down the street a couple miles, your efficiency will be poor for those first couple miles. After that, it should be better.

each drive is usually at least 10-15 miles
 
North East as well here. I have a 23 AT w/ 19" stock wheels. In summer, I have constantly hit 3.8-4.3 m/Kw. I did a 1000 miles RT from NJ to Toronto with 2 charge stops last week where temps were in mid 30's, windy and stormy as well. I have constantly received 3.3 m/Kw
 
Depending how you drive and what temp heat you want is going to affect the efficiancy.'23 air Pure here recently took a 150-mile round trip with 4 people and both frunk and trunk filled. Ambient temp around 42 degrees. Halfway to the destination I noticed at least a 15% drop in efficiency but on the way back that had closed to 10%, probably from dropping off two people and their luggage, my average speed was probably 70 mph. During the warm months with the A/C on that is what I'm used to. The upside is nothing handles in bad weather like this car.
 
I have the Pure AWD and drive monthly >200 miles over high mountain passes in winter for past two winters. (I'm looking forward to going again tomorrow!) Temps are usually between 20-35F for most of the way, sometimes as low as 0F.
The efficiency I get is minimally impacted by the cold temps, <5%. I usually drive alone without a ton of cargo, on Lucid's choice for winter tires (Pirelli Sottozero.). Two points I haven't read here yet but I think matter:
- I find tire inflation is important for efficiency.
- Stay in smooth mode which uses only one of the two motors for efficiency when cruising.
 
I live in Quebec with a 2023 Air Touring equipped with 20-inch Michelin tires in summer and 19-inch Pirelli winter tires. The car is in my garage every day, but already the outside temperature varies from 5 Celsius to -20. We already have a lot of snow for this time of year.
My routes (center consol itinaire) are always maintained as follows: A: 19-inch winter tires and B: 20-inch summer tires.
I can confirm that my average city and highway mileage with summer tires is 5.6 km/kWh, while with winter tires in cold weather the average is 4.4 km/kWh.

this is a good comparison and that's how bad mine is doing. My temps have been slightly higher than Montreal (and no snow yet)...and i struggle to get 4 km/kwh :( 19 inch winter tires as well.
