Build date Oct 2022, bought the car Dec 14 2023

I have a question about the Build Date. I bought my new AGT on Dec 14, 2023. I notices the build date on the door jam is Oct 2022. I am wondering if the car I got is a 2023 or 2022? The sticker shows the price and option says 2023. Why would the car be over a year old sit on the lot? I would have thought they would have sold it before later build models were sold. Does any know a reason for this?
