It depends upon which combination of features is important to you. For performance...Look at the BMW X5, for example. For cost, look at the Mazda CX90. A total range of 900 miles on the Chinese system is equivalent to a range of 600 in the US. Total range of a PHEV is primarily determined by the size of the gas tank and the power of the engines and motors.

Having occasionally driven behind Buick owners, I can add that the driving style of the owner is a major determinant. Buicks should have excellent range based on that experience.

There are many large PHEV SUVs in today's market.
