2025 Lucid Air GT
Drive to work this morning with no issue, but getting back in the car this evening to come home and it immediately flashed up “Brake System Failure” and lit up the ESP and what I assume is the forward collision warning lights. A quick test in the parking lot showed the brakes were working and turning coasting on the car did not slow as if a brake was stuck on so I drove it home. I noticed auto hold was not working nor was hill start assist.
Called Lucid Customer Service and they said someone will call me within 48h. Nearest service center is Houston so I’m hoping this can be done mobile as I’m in Dallas…
Car is a 1 month old 2025 GT with 700 miles…

Houston service center just called and gave me the option of having the car towed there for diagnosis and repair, or having a mobile tech come and check it (pull codes and maybe fix on site if something simple like a wheel sensor) but if more serious the car would still have to go to Houston so it’s potentially just adding delay not taking it there immediately.
I decided to have the mobile tech check it out first, and if it has to go to Houston then we can talk loaner car etc, otherwise let’s potentially save me time and them money trying it this way as me and my wife can live with just one remaining car for a few days at least.
Surprised they can’t do remote diagnostics like Tesla, but, so far, the experience is better than Tesla and their two month backed up service center here…

I was wondering if this was just a glitch on “wake up” when I got into the car yesterday evening after it had been asleep all day…
This morning I got into it to check and there were no errors on the dash so I drove it and again seemed normal but auto hold was off and greyed out and I couldn’t turn it back on (it switched itself off yesterday when the fault happened).
I did a soft reset and now the option was still off but not greyed out so I turned if back on and drive the car a mile or so and auto hold was working correctly again.
I’ll drive it a few miles later to see if it stays working but I think I’ll still ask the mobile tech to take a look when he calls……

Mobile tech came at lunch time, explained the whole back story and details, he pulled the logs and codes from the car for analysis.
May have been a bug / issue with all the modules not waking up correctly, but for now we'll see if it comes back up.
Says he could see some errors (not necessarily related) that he knows are being fixed in 2.6 which I don't have yet.
We chatted about a couple of other things but for now I am happy to keep driving and see if the error comes back.
But it's logged at least and they're leaving the case open.

So far I'm very impressed with Lucid Service, their response times, the friendliness and enthusiasm of everyone I have spoken to.
Fingers crossed that continues as the company grows!

Same thing happened to my new lucid. It's got 482 miles on it. Is this a lemon situation with these cars? I'm waiting to hear from the service center. This is really unbelievable.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Owning a new Air is a crapshoot: some are bug free, others are bug ridden - like mine. I have no idea why there is such a big reliability difference between different cars, it has never happened to me before.

My unsolicited advice? Get used to the bugs, and enjoy the rest of the car. This forum is also very helpful with advice on some workarounds, a really great community.

Welcome to the Lucid (dysfunctional) family :) :(

I've owned one since may of 23,it does strange things like that, mine "fell into a deep sleep" and I couldn't wake it up, neither could a call out to service with a signal, he explained there were a lot of bug fixes in an update and it might take a while as it updated, of course it was raining and I was stuck at a mall, would not let me enter,1/2hr later it woke up and that was it. You'll get back in, drive, and forget all about it.

No. Lucid service will fix it for you. The only time lemon comes into play is if they *cannot* fix it for longer than 30 days. They can fix this. :)

I had the brake fault issue. I had to turn off regernative braking because it was grinding on the rotor. They fixed it same day for me. However this is my 9th service visit in less than 2 years. 2023 Pure. I love driving my car and the way it looks but I'm losing patience. I can't imagine if I didn't have a service center nearby.

Since then I should add I got a Drive System Fault warning at around 950 miles which disappeared within minutes, and today got a Rear Anti Collision System Unavailable warning when I got in the car, which also disappeared when I got back into it 30 mins later... Neither of which I have bothered to report to Lucid.
Seems to me when the car wakes up after being parked there are bugs re the waking up of all the modules/sensors. At least I hope that's the issue.
The car was flawless on the 600+ mile round trip we did this weekend.
