Bass rattle

I found this thread because my week old rear sub rattles like crazy. It shouldn't.

I had the same problem, service sent out a mobile tech who confirmed the rattling in my non-pro system. They eventually replaced my rear parcel shelf which has helped somewhat. So definitely go down the service route first.

That being said, I still hear distortion from the rear sub during certain songs, but not enough to engage with service again about it. It also appears to be more pronounced after the cabin has been exposed to the sun for a period of time.

I'll have to try the DIY that @FEH72 mentioned.

Too late I just ripped it all out lol

In my case it was the TPMS ECU rattling against its own bracket. I can see where now they have wire wrapped and put rubber over contact points.

Here’s a pic of what it was, I wrapped the bracket with Tessa tape and put it back in.

That rear sub moves a lot it’s actually very high quality.

Okay that was one rattle but as soon as I put it back in the whole thing rattles like crazy. Guess I’ll call service.

My bass rattling was from a missing clip/fastener that secures two plastic components, it's located right above the charging port and it's only visible when the hood open.

I'm my case, the bass rattling was most pronounced when I listen from the frunk area near where the front strut is located.

The mobile service tech diagnosed it, I'll attach pictures later.

If it's the same problem as mine, depressing the rattling plastic while playing heavy bass music, completely stops the bass rattle, and thus confirms the diagnosis.

Mobile service just replaced the clip and solved the issue.

I had this exact same issue. It was just fixed by a mobile tech this week. In my case the plastic clip was missing on both sides

I have, three times. They told me straight up that the vibration would come back and they were correct. They were very good about it.

For me it’s obviously the rear parcel shelf subwoofer.

I read that they increased the gain of the system 6db during an update and I wonder if that is too much for that woofer.

I was able to find some foam that is used in shipping desktop printers. The foam is about 2 in.² and black and fairly dense. I took two 2 1/2 inch cut of this square foam and pulled down the liner in the top of the trunk and placed one peg of this foam in the empty spots where I didn’t have Speakers. That solved my problem. I will see if I have any left and take a photograph of it tomorrow and see if you can recognize it or find something similar to make it work. Only caveat is you would have to have the standard surreal sound system as opposed to the surreal sound pro. Less speakers allowed for more holes that were pre-cut. It takes about five minutes to do and works great.

Are you talking about the cutouts for the SSP system?
