Awesome experience - 3,500+ mile round trip FL to TX

Received our GGT 7-seater at end of March, delivery from WPB went very smoothly. Soon after arrival we took a 1 week 'trial run' trip to central FL with no issues, then 2 weeks later took a 13-day (3,526) mile trip from So FL to NW TX and back.

Very enjoyable trip! No FOB issues, even charging went well as we used a combination of EA, Tesla, and Ionna chargers along the way. Nav system worked well for charging stops, which averaged about every 3 hours on the highway. Have to say we are extremely pleased with our Gravity.

Worst part was driving thru downtown Dallas at one point - completely avoided ALL metro areas after that experience!

Just over 2 months old and already have \~4,500 miles on it! Best part was we found we didn't need to keep track of efficiency, or when to stop (although we did verify every planned stop on Plugshare just to be cautious... but did not have any problem with the nav-suggested stops, a few times we 'stretched' it a bit due to impromptu stops we didn't put in nav). We just enjoyed the travel and found it to be extremely comfortable for long distances, as we had hoped it would be. The range available and periodic seat massages made it very workable for longer distances.

We have a dual-zone Iceco fridge cooler that ran the entire time (we did have an EcoFlow as backup for keeping the fridge running at night depending on charging stops surrounding the hotel stop), and found the every \~3hr highway charging stops pretty ideal for food stops as well, usually the car was done charging before we were ready to continue, so no real inconvenience there either.

Been watching Lucid since 2018 and are very happy we picked up a Gravity!

Excellent experience and I am super glad you filled us in. I envision similar future trips in the same area and your input is very valuable.

These are great vehicles and I suspect range anxiety is a thing of the past. Bold trip in a new car, but much appreciated. 💯

(And sweet to look at--a real head turner!)

I used to do a 1,000 mile trip a couple times a year in my Audi Q7. We would be fully loaded: 2 peeps, 2 hounds +cargo box on top. That thing was BEAST on the highway. We could cruise at 90 all day long (unless we were near DC :rolleyes:). I have to say the Gravity looks like it might be the equal of those Q7s on the highway. Nice report
 
Excellent to hear as we feel the same. Many road trips in ours now and we have no range anxiety at all in the Gravity. We also recently took my wife’s ev9 on a road trip too (it was getting lonely and dusty 😂) and the range on the Gravity was just silly more than that car. Even tho I don’t have top range spec, and I don’t drive reserved at all, we both noticed how much farther the Gravity can go and it’s charging speeds just changes road trips entirely.
 
I wonder how your vehicles are received on these trips. Are Gravities still rare enough to generate interest from bystanders?
Certainly pretty enough!

Had lookers quite a bit both on and off the highway, and a couple charging stops brought a few interested enquiries. Saw a couple Airs, but no other Gravitys in our travels so far….

I tend to still get a lot of turning heads and pointing and usually one or two persons asking questions each road trip. Going on another to Gulf Shores in a couple of weeks and I expect it'll be about the same. A lot of people, especially in the south/southeast have not heard of Lucid but they do like the looks of it and when I mention the EPA range and real world range, they get very pleasantly surprised.
 
I barely post on here anymore due to the avalanche of negativity so I really appreciate your post, as even with whatever issues my Gravity Dream I got in October has had, none of that detracts from how fantastic the vehicle is in so many ways. Most recently I took my car which I named Shai Hulud up to Tycoon arcade in New Hampshire and picked up a Dune pinball machine. Yes it’s a bit of Timothee Chalamet overdose haha, but I was able to fit this 400lb piece of mechanical world under glass in the back no problem and it didn’t even harm the efficiency. This vehicle is insanely versatile and I’m so glad it forced me to overcome my SUV skepticism. Being able to lower the suspension while outside the vehicle came in especially handy as the scissor lift to get it in wasn’t high enough No problem, active air suspension to the rescue!
