2026 Gravity Touring
Has anyone autocrossed a Gravity Touring? It's been so much fun to drive on the street that I'm going to take my car to an autocross this weekend on OE tires. Any tips? I still have to figure out how to disable as much of the nannies as possible ;-) Can I run the OE tire pressure or do I need to up the pressure beyond the stock setting?
 
Different question that I've never had to ask before: how much should I charge the batteries for the autocross?
 
You won’t be going fast enough to need 100% power or regen enough to miss out on regen too much…I am thinking around 70-80% to allow full regen and close enough to max power.

I do hope this is on a summer tire as the all seasons are not amazing.

Upgraded tires would make a pretty crazy difference.

Without a good tire the brakes will over power the tires. Brake fluid is for an actual more than 1 minute proper lap course.
 
I'm on what looks like a Hankook low-rolling-resistance tire and fully expect to be sliding all over the place. Definitely not a summer tire on the car. I know the car will be grip challenged, but I figured it would be fun just to see what the potential might be like. This won't be a regular thing. We already have a dedicated race car.
 
If you have the 4WS option, it's supposedly out of phase below 31mph, and in phase above 37. That might matter, if you're better served by pivoting tighter on a technical course (going slower), or going wider, keeping >37, for exit speed onto a straight. The long wheelbase and steering dynamics were hard for me to get used to. I haven't auto-crossed it, LOL, but I now consciously turn in later to reach the same apex because the 4WS brings me in faster than I'm used to.
