Lucid Air Touring
Just bought a used 2025 Air Touring. Tried everything, auto open and close doesn’t work. Any thoughts?

Welcome to Lucid
That is not helpful.

Please tell us what you are doing and what the car is or is not doing then we may be able to help. Are you using fob or phone or both? Does the fob have a new battery?

Just schedule service. It could be a few different things. I’d a reboot and repairing the keys doesn’t work, they’ll need to take a look at it.

What is auto anything not opening or closing what exactly? Is it lock unlock? The op doesn’t give any details

Lucid door handles have a known issue. It takes 24 to 48 business hours for them to automatically present themselves.

I think it is perfectly fair to say that your sarcastic answer was of no help to the OP that was looking for help. That siad your hyperbole about 24 to 48 hours is untrue. My handles always present within about 5 to 10 seconds when using phone only and instantly when using a fob. I know my case may not represent all owners but I can say for sure that your 24 to 48 hours represents no owners.

Setting their expectations right. No point in taking it to service, if that is the issue. They will tell him that there are 5 different point on how the car reads the key and they will pretend to reset everything, for nothing to fix it. Ask me how I know.

Assuming you're referring to the lock/unlock I've found it finicky enough to mostly not bother with.

I disabled the auto unlock because it was always unlocking while I walked through the house with my phone but would occasionally NOT unlock while standing next to the driver's door. Now I just push the driver's door handle to unlock it, which only works about 10% of the time while pushing the driver side passenger door handle works about 95% of the time, however...go figure.

Auto lock seems to be more reliable. 90% of the time my car locks by the time I've crossed the threshold between the garage and mudroom. The other 10% I just lock it with my key fob to ensure my amp turns off.

From all the research I've done and posts I've read here, that's essentially how the vast majority of Lucid Airs operate. If yours is doing what I described it would probably be considered "within parameters" by Lucid's techs.

There are definitely some hardware variances. Has to be. It won’t do it for me phone at all, even tho it shows linked. My fob was fine for a year but now it’s starting to do it on fob too. Service has tried 4 times to fix it and can’t. They did say three of my door handles had “internal faults”, and replaced all three, but it didn’t fix the issue. But then you have thousands of early builds with literally zero issues at all. Somewhere something went sideways. I’ll let Lucid take another try, especially if it’s something with the 25/26s then more and more will start to do it and they can get some data.

Just to add a data point, 25 AT and same (well, except for the fob which I have never carried except when I take it to the car wash). Never had to use the card. 10 second max and if the phone is awake and has not been in range of the car for prolonged periods of time, it works well 95% of the time, often instantly. The other times I might press the door handle. That has never failed. And yes, I realize not everyone has the same experience.
