A plain vanilla "review" of the 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS... but the title of the article... wow.. lol
Can't imagine what the author would've said to Chris Bangle-era BMW designs....

I personally think the EQS actually looks better in person... but the photos..yikes. lol

Just wow. I can't believe Mercedes went down the route of an unnecessary grill after BMW BEV designs got so much flak.

I went to the focus group for the EQ models 6 years ago. The grill/front was universally panned, but they stuck with it. Same thing for Lexus predator grill. Saw that before release, but feedback wasn’t taken.

Was the hyperscreen also shown? And what did everybody think of it?

I have long thought that Mercedes has two basic grille designs: the one that is like the new EQS grille and the horizontal one with a star in the middle. I have also long thought that the first one is an old person's grille (I should know, I am old) and so long as I am mentally alert, that is one that I can't tolerate (and the reason I am not now driving a BMW EV). I don't know what is in the head of the German designers but, to paraphrase Mary Wells, I can't believe I saw the whole thing.

Yes it was there, but a static, non functional version. People liked it, but we couldn’t really see what its capabilities were nor could we see what ended up to be the over the top led ambient lighting

It’s all marketing. Mercedes had huge followers in China market and they like those gaudy look of casino Triad look as status symbol
