App shows Air is offline

To clarify, does the app say that the vehicle is actually 'offline', or are you by chance just having a problem getting the car to wake from the app? For many months now, I have found that I cannot wake the car from the app if I have the car's wi-fi turned. The app will also say that the vehicle is 'offline' from time to time, but it will never let me wake the car from afar. Once I turn off the car's wi-fi, the app works great no matter where I am, auto-open lag aside.
The app says the car is offline. I couldn’t turn on AC or open trunk etc. There was also no push notification when the software update was about to begin. The car itself works fine. Phone key also works. It’s like the app just doesn’t connect to the car in any way. When I got home, the car connected to my home’s WiFi. It was still showing offline. Now I just checked again after 15 minutes. The app is finally showing the car as connected and normal.

I never had any issues waking the car from afar before. I once even accidentally opened the trunk from 6000 miles away when I was overseas.

I have been having this problem too. I can't connect to the car via the app anywhere except when the car is in my garage. It is not a huge issue, but there are times, like when I'm in a store and want to make sure I locked the car, but I can't connect. It seems like this started happening after one of the recent updates (I'm on 2.8.9 right now).

To me, it’s right after 2.8.9. Not end of the world but frustrating to have this issue when it’s about to get really cold and snowy.

In fairness, I haven't tried anything to resolve it.

I too first noticed this issue today and am on 2.8.16. Here is a screenshot of the Android app. Passive unlock with my phone worked fine along with all else. But at home when I turn off passive unlock I had to use the key fob, which I never carry.

I have just done a logo reset, which has resolved the issue at least temporarily. It was my first reset in a very long time. Fingers crossed hoping this is ephemeral.

It seems like it happens when the car is not connected to WiFi. I’m at my friend’s house now and it’s showing the car as offline. God it’s snowing out there and I’m not able to defrost the windows. Every software update, Lucid fixes one thing and breaks 2 other. 😕I’m had way through my lease and there were no major update to the software.

On your screenshot, I saw your 20 degree target temperature and thought 'Is this guy part penguin?'. Took me a minute to figure out it's Celsius. Such is life when you live 1k+ miles south of Canada.

It has been 6 hours. I have tried both the Logo reset and the brake+X+mic reboot. No change. The car is obviously in very good AT&T mobile coverage. And so is my phone.

Any other reset I can perform to wake up the TCU?
You may already have checked this, but I had the same issue a few days ago after an online update. For some reason, the WIFI button in the network settings had been turned to OFF.
I don't know how that happened, but it took me several hours of frustration until I noticed it.

Just to clarify... You mean that the wi-fi settings on your PHONE were set to off, right? Turning the wi-fi settings off in the vehicle would have nothing to do with the problems being discussed. In fact, I and many other users HAVE to turn off the wi-fi in the car, or it is impossible to wake the car remotely from the app.

I had this problem as well. I took it to be serviced and they said they had to reboot the TCU. (they also blamed it on poor LTE coverage which is BS)

It appears to be working now.

I texted Lucid and they had me do below. It seemed to work because I haven’t had any problem ever since.

Place your car in Park. (3mins)
Please press the "X" button and Microphone button on the steering wheel at the same time, all while holding the brake pedal down for 20 seconds, and then release all three. You may receive faulty notifications during this time, please ignore. The screens will begin to go black. Please allow the vehicle and screens a few moments to restart itself.

Then I would have you toggle the wifi off, do that steering wheel reboot that you did earlier. Then turn wifi back on, connect to wifi for 3-6 minutes then disconnect and let me know if we get a steady connection.

I lied. It’s happening again.

I have the same issue with WiFi. If WiFi is ON, the Air is offline. Does anyone have thoughts on this? May it be a firewall issue?

This worked for me, but another issues can be that low LTE service areas don't connect without wifi. This affects both my Tesla and my Lucid.

Brand new owner here. Just picked the 2026 Air Touring up yesterday. Drove it home and noticed it was offline in the app. Looking at the locator in the app, it showed the car leaving the Studio parking lot. No issues that I noticed with the car. Drove like a dream.

A few hours later, while sitting in my garage making changes to some profile settings, it was no longer showing 'vehicle offline' in the app. Now I know it was not connected to my home WIFI as I never set it up. Frankly, I did not even know that is an option, connecting to WIFI. Why would I want to connect my car to my WIFI at home? Is connecting to WIFI necessary?

None of this connectivity was explained to me when I picked up the car. Poking around in this forum, it seems like the car connects via LTE? Do I need a cellular account for that?

Unless you have no LTE coverage in your garage, you are better off not connecting to home WiFi.

This happens in my garage with my Lucid and my Teslas. Turn on WiFi and connect to your home and it will stop. I’m just in a low LTE area.

The only other time I had that happen is when the LTE network (old AT&T I think) is down or overloaded. Phone key works fine, GPS and car work fine, but the app can’t connect without WiFi
