I am back with another world first…because I wasn’t going to stop until I got Porsche level braking for this max performance family missile.
I traded my small 20/21 wheel and tire for a large wheel, except after 8k the tires were 4-6/32, wasn’t worth the install cost so I replaced them.
Went with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 in 275/40/22 and 295/35/23
Naturally I brake tested them against my previous wheel and tire as well as compared to stock data on Dream with a large wheel and Touring on the small wheel.
As seen in my Got Boost post
“
My prior Gravity braking records are:
70-0
1. Michelin All Season 4 265/285 - 162ft
2. Michelin All Season 4 295/285 - 157ft
60-0
1. Michelin All Season 4 265/285 - 115ft
2. Michelin All Season 4 295/285 - 117ft
And today Goodyear Assymetric 6 275/295 on stock 22/23”
70-0
152ft
60-0
110ft
So, what does that even mean? The stock Lucid PZ5 which are 3k plus go 70-0 in 162ft so even the Michelin AS4 can compete there.
How about the stock efficiency tire?
Fitted to a Touring which is 400-500lb lighter
70-0 in 170ft
As you add weight the braking gets worse, going faster exponentially increases braking distance.
100mph requires twice as much space to slow down as 70mph.
Please consider the braking distances when launching your family max performance missile and stay safe.”
Adding a photo of Cayenne EV Turbo for Porsche comparison. Of note, it’s got a stickier tire and a lot less weight.
