Anemic A/C - is this the norm?

I'm pretty sure this is not the issue here, but sharing a mistake I made in the past. Last year there were rumors that heating worked better with AC turned off. So I had AC disabled all winter. When warm days came I noticed that AC is not cooling the air properly. I took me a few extra days to discover that my AC (switch) is still turned off. Once turned on it had 0 issues cooling the cabin.

A setting that actually stays set?? Wow!

Now they need to figure out how to get HOLD/CREEP to do that.

Have you ensured the vent sliders are all the way open? You can feel if you slide them to the right they click and that means closed.

Strangely enough the left two vents turn off in the opposite direction of the right two passenger vents. (I lost argument with wife)

Put me in the camp that is underwhelmed with the AC. As others have noted, I think the most noticeable thing is that you can’t get a good blast of cold air directed at your face because of the design and positioning of the air vents. I have found it’s better if I turn off some of the vents; I believe it blows some air at the windshield which I find not all that useful. I get more of a fresh blast of cool air if I turn off the windshield and foot vents. And I definitely make use of the seat cooling as well.

I don’t often have someone in the third row, but I had my first experience on a hot day with a third row passenger recently. She was not particularly pleased with how fast things were cooling back there.

Overall, on a hot day I find I’ve really got to blast the fans at 9 or 10 with the seat ventilation on and the vents appropriately tuned. It cools the car and feels ok, but holy cow is it loud.

I am about to install the glass roof shades though. It does feel like that glass is really radiating heat.
