Android auto

Mine has been working fine since day one, but today when it came up it says "preproduction hardware not for resale". I know the 2.7.0 notes say it might happen, but it is odd it showed up today out of the blue. I went through the steps of removing my phone from the car, removing AA from my phone and reinstalling / setting up AA but it is still there. Anybody else get it randomly and has it gone away on its own?

Is it possible to stop AA from launching by default as soon as you get in the car?

AA doesn't reliably connect, and when it doesn't (just circles on starting until it gives up), the only way I've found to fix it is to reboot the Lucid. Tried disabling, re-enabling Bluetooth on the car, but that didn't work.
Mine too..or rather circles once until failure then connects a 2nd time. If it doesn't connect a 2nd time check to see if you have a VPN running on your phone & disable & retry.

Yes. In Android Auto's Settings app, set "Start Android Auto Automatically" to "If used on last drive".
Then exit Android Auto before you leave the car by tapping the Android Auto symbol next to your phone on the car's Devices/Bluetooth menu.

Wow, so simple and so well hidden! Thank you Deane!

Unfortunately, no option ('if used on the last drive', 'always' or 'default') made any difference with my Pixel 8A. AA keeps starting up automatically. Was anyone able to prevent AA from loading as soon as you get in the car?

After my post with that solution, my own Android Auto started up every time as well. It worked at least once!
