Air Version 2.9.0

2023 AT here and phone is Pixel 10 Pro..all up to date .and after the 2.9 update my PAAK still sucks as bad as it did before ..tried to ditch the fob for two rainy days and got extra soaked cos the car won't open up with mobile key when I stood near it...I have the auto handles turned off so I was profusely pressing the door handle on as soon as I got within reach. No dice. Had to take the phone out ..hit the door handle nothing ..unlocked the phone...hit the door handle..nothing ..started the Lucid app...hit the door handles..nothing for 2 secs and then it responded...all as I stood in rain....in super jealous of the Apple folks who seem to have better luck with PAAK...2.9 gave me hope..but entry into my Lucid Air for me remains a nagging negotiation everytime I approach it...it's like an arm wrestling match that I know I'll eventually win everytime...but I could do with my car not wanting to challenge me every ...single...time....EXHAUSTING!

Yup mine is doing this now too. Going back to service. It’s incredibly frustrating. I look at the app. The car is online. I’m standing next to it. IT WILL NOT OPEN! Pressing the door handles does nothing. The car does not wake. Except the app says it’s awake!! But the handles do nothing!!

This will be its 4th out of state shipment for service now. Lucid has had it almost 3 months now. It’s unbelievable.

Edit: *76 days in service.

2.9.0 Installations on Lucid Tracker have essentially paused for the last 24 hours (maybe 1-2 vehicles updated today). Stuck at 62%. Seems like they aren't pushing out the update actively. I wonder if there's a problem.

if it makes you feel any better (it won't) I have a pixel 10 pro xl (as does my wife) and PAAK mostly works all the time (i mean, it works ALL the time when I don't care to open it...when i'm walking near the garage....and most of the time in situations where i'm getting near the car). And the few times it doesn't work when i walk up, I unlock my phone and it works. Only 2-3 times where it refused to wake up even when opening the phone, pushing the handle unlocked it.

This absolutely does not help you...but just wanted to relay that the Pixel 10 Pro architecture may not necessarily be the problem...(but I made sure EVERYTHING from the lucid app had no restriction: battery, data, etc all non restricted).

Mine works so well that I constantly activate/unlock in my house and eventually get a notification the feature is disabled.

Due to this, I turned that feature off.

I am patiently waiting for when/if this has a setting to automatically disable at home but work everywhere else.

I got the update notification overnight. Yay!!

It's for version 2.8.17. Boo!!
2.8.17 update is complete. Now we're on to 2.8.30!! So apparently 2.8.16, 2.8.17 and 2.8.30 are all distinctly different updates. 2.8.17 took about an hour. 2.8.30 is supposed to take 15 mins. Hopefully I will end up on 2.9.0 and the car will continue to be perfect. 🤞

yeah that's why it's parked in the far garage door rather than the one that goes into the mudroom for us hehe. i'm sure i'd have that problem all the time because as soon as i get into the truck (which is the vehicle closest to the door leading into the garage), the lucid usually wakes right up..15 feet away. It's a little annoying, but (knock on wood) mine seems to work WAY better than some on here so i'm not complaining

I can pretty much echo everything you said RE my Pixel 9. Flawless auto close, and pretty good auto open. It has never failed for more than maybe 40 seconds. The only true frustration is when I go to a store or restaurant for a while. Upon returning, the car seems reluctant to open, as if it is speculating that I am just walking by. In such cases, I have taken on the habit of waking the phone as I return, and rotating it in my pocket as approaching the car. Those situations are most frustrating as this is when I often have guests with me, and I sense that this one quirk leaves them with the impression is that I bought a flaky $100k+ car.

I delete and reconnect my phone after every major update, relink my mobile app, and make sure the app is set to run in the background. (I also alwarys set it to run unrestricted, but that never sticks for more than a few hours.)

The overall performance has improved considerably since recent updates, but this is still my only true operational frustration, other than DDP thinking I'm asleep at the wheel.

Keep in mind, it's still only a very small sample size on the tracker so whilst it does appear to have slowed down I wouldn't necessarily assume it's paused \ on hold. Could just be hitting users who aren't registered on the site.

The number of downloads per hour/day will also significantly decrease as the download mix transitions from wi-fi based to LTE based.

I dont have the update as of yet and I typically get it early but I don't connect my car to wifi because its so terrible at realizing when its out of range of the wifi so my music stops as I leave the house. That being said I did connect it to wifi a couple of days ago because of this update. I'm not in a rush, it will come to my car when it comes.

Yup, installing 2.9.0 right now

2.9.0 installed after one failed attempt.
No idea what happened.

Look forward to testing the enhanced lane change on my drive to the office tomorrow.

Update installed. My observations:

1. Generally pretty happy, Google managing destinations is an improvement
2. Had to do the logout/login thing for driver profile, Sirius, and Tidal to get everything working.
3. New annoyance: If I exit out of navigation on the center screen (to go to audio, for instance), when I come back the search window always pops back up, and I have to close it.
4. Tidal still forgets where playback left off between sessions. Would love for that to get fixed.

I think the best way to use Carplay is to have cellular data turned on; it really is not intended to be tethered to wifi. It claims not use cellular much since it mostly reads downloaded local material but does need the option to be reliable.

Try that, turn wifi back on, and I bet you life gets better! No cost tip!

...And will get you around this unrelated update.

Ok I went from 26% complete to fully complete in about 15 mins--but it took two hours total. I had to reinstall the app because it lost its mind, but it came to its senses are re-installation.

I think I may have set a world record for most UTA updates in a 6-hour period: 3!
