Yesterday my brother and I visited the Lucid Studio at the Mall at Short Hills, NJ for a scheduled test drive. The visit was a 1st class experience from beginning to end. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by Tak, our Studio Advisor. He offered us a bottle of water and asked if we had any questions before he started his introduction. Before the test drive he gave us a brief overview of the Air, which in addition to the mechanicals, also reviewed options, wheels, colors, etc. He then walked us to the car and reviewed the controls and screens before turning us loose.

This was my 1st time driving a Lucid which validated all the positive comments I have seen here regarding ride and handling. It also validated the complaints I have read regarding flaky software. Neither my brother or I could get the Lucid NAV to work. After we paired my phone, which was quick and easy, we tried Google Maps via Android Auto. We entered a local destination which showed as an 11 minute ride on our phone but was shown as a 3 hour plus ride on the Lucid display with some crazy route. I didn't even this type of discrepancy was possible. Not a deal breaker but certainly concerning. Every else seemed to work OK.

Upon our return Tak once again offered assistance regarding any questions and followed up today with a professional and helpful email, once again offering his services for any additional questions and follow up visit.

In summary, we couldn't have asked for a more first class and professional experience, couldn't ask for a better riding sedan, but it appears we still need a little work on the software.

That's strange! I've never experienced that issue. When using Android Auto, your phone is running Google navigation and just projecting the result through Android Auto. The phone does use the car's GPS signal during this time instead of its own. Was the car indoors when this happened?

DeaneG,
Thats exactly what I thought. We were on the road when we experienced this issue. When I shared this experience with the Lucid Studio Advisor, he told me that even though I was using google maps thru Android Audo, when using google maps, the Lucid air will display the google interface, however it is using the "geo locator" in the vehicle in conjunction with google maps. I never heard of such a thing, but it would explain why my phone and the Lucid display were not in sync.

That is correct; when hooked up to Android Auto, it uses the car’s GPS signal rather than the phone’s.
