Had the Gravity for a few days now and have taken several 100 + trips and always thought the LDA was a bit "sensitive". But yesterday I was taking a few people on a 80 mile round trip and it scared me enough to turn it off lol!
So, I was driving on a 2-lane highway, we were all talking and I was holding the wheel in my usual relaxed manner, when all of a sudden, the LDA kicked in (probably for valid reason) but it was so aggressive it pulled the wheel out of my hands. What really made this bad was it was right when we were passing oncoming traffic. I instinctually grabbed the wheel back and it felt like we might have been flung into the oncoming lane...
After a few minutes, and I had settled down, I thought to myself that maybe it just caught me by surprise and I overreacted. Mind you, I have extensive driving experience and have been driving with ADAS equipped vehicles for a long time (FSD orig Beta testing group). even some high-performance driving schools back in my younger days, but then it did the same exact thing about 5 miles up the road. At that point I quietly turned it off.
For the record, I'm not saying it was going to throw us into oncoming traffic, but I am saying it sure made me fear that it was.
I have also had it engage many times with my normal driving style and NOT scare me in the slightest...yesterday was different.
Wondering if anyone else has experienced this extreme scenario and/ or if you think it's too sensitive in general?
Thanks
